I thought Kane did ok for us, but he left QPR because he wanted 1st team football, and given Dabo looks to have that position tied down there is little point him staying, particularly when we have decent young back up options in Burroughs and Eccles. It will also relieve some of the pressure on funds given his wages will be that of a 1st team regular.

The problem with saying this player or that player can go is about who will come in. The squad was threadbare last season, We relied heavily on Kane and when fit he was unplayable at times, much more useful that Dabs a lot of the time as it turned out. We collapsed in the league from 2nd to very nearly the same position as the year before - just Dabo and Eccles (covering also for Kels) won't cut the mustard I'm afraid. We learned from the first season that we needed some experience in the squad, now people are arguing that we can ditch the experience and go with the kids.

Whilst I agree, but with another year in the championship under their belts weve got quite a bit of experience now. But I agree that once Dabo gets injured it might cause panic. Kane was never the answer though

Once Kane has gone will you be able to reveal the story you heard about him?

I hope we don't hear a story behind it, especially if it is mental health related.
Kane will be a loss to the team and squad, as others have said, particularly given dabo's recent injuries...but understand we only have a limited budget and need to be cutting some costs.

Let’s be fair here-Dabo owes us a good season this year.

Absolute garbage last year-whether that was injuries affecting him or not. Some of his decision making was very poor resulting in sending off or goals.

Was nowhere near the standards he set in previous years.

Most of us at the time we brought Kane in applauded the transfer because Dabo was playing so poorly & to be fair he began well but just tailed off.

Maybe it was because he just didn’t settle into the group-they seem quite tight knit and focussed.

No room for wrong uns in a team sport.

That being said not sure we have got that much cover at RB/RWB if Kane does go.

Fingers crossed the Tank has an injury free start to the season and regains the form we know he can produce.

A good number of those errors, the worst ones anyway, were when he was playing at centre back to be fair. The exception being that ridiculous sending off he got himself against Cardiff.

Dabo was our best player in L1 and has been injured both seasons since which has seriously had an influence on his form. When fit, he is class. Kane went from average to class then back to average again. I believe MR when he says the speculation about Kane on social media is garbage. Feel he wants to return to London which may be a stretch as that really cuts down his options.

It’s intrigued me that seemingly Walker, Jones and Kane had quite a good relationship and all have either left (temporarily or permanently) or been hawked out.

I don't understand some of our fans at times? Spent most of last season moaning about Allen and Shipley not being good enough. Despite being cheap option squad players who could fill in for the occassional game.

Then we get the likes of Kane and Bidwell into the squad who are proven at this level. But they want them gone after 5 minutes?

Bidwell will be a different player this year - January is a notoriously difficult time to join a team and bed in. He should be settled now and ready to go.

Kane not sure what has been going on - but certainly not the crap that has been circulating on here. Robins sounded really pissesd off about the rumours spread on here.

If it is all about first team football then no one is guaranteed that. Get your head down and earn the shirt.

But something our fans need to learn is general squad upgrades cost a lot more at this level than League 1 and 2. Also chopping and changing every 5 minutes is not the way successful teams are built. Ideally you should only be looking to introduce 3 or 4 players a year to evolve the squad.

As an aside, Ive never understood the criticism of Allen. A Really improved season for us and our motm on more than one occasion.

Yup. He clearly needs a Hamer or similar alongside him, as he can get bullied too easily against certain sides, but he was part of an inventive, high energy midfield last season and was rightly selected ahead of Sheaf a couple of times (that doesn't make Sheaf poor, or undeserving of his place, btw!). Like just about all the midfielders he needs to learn how to shoot straight, but we have far bigger issues in the squad than Allen.

Loan or buy?

I believe they would like a loan to avoid a transfer fee but Kane wants permanent move. Agents will play there part as well.
It will be a stand off or other options will prevail. You would assume that he has no future at CCFC so a permanent move may suit both sides. ( Kane and CCFC)
He is also on a big salary at CCFC.

He's in his last year of his contract isn't he, so loan or permanent makes little difference to CCFC. Am guessing he wants security beyond this coming season, mind you - who wouldn't!
