Not convinced a Moore error is out of character, either. It would have been first half of last season...

Moore 4 - clanger for their goal, took a dangerous cross well in the second half though

Eccles 3 - Well off it, perhaps the occasion got to him. He’s a much better player than that

Bidwell 3 - bad performance, seemed to misjudge everything, easily beaten by Gooch for their goal as well

Hyam 6 - steady, good performance

Fadz 5 - defended well but thought he seemed impatient and lost the ball a couple of times coming out

Panzo 8 - very good performance, looks a quality defender and gets forward well

Sheaf 5 - Good second half, but think he’ll take a few games to get the sharpness and pace to his play

Hamer 6 - Short of his best, but still quality moments. We’d be lost without him

Allen 4 - looked a bit lost out there, had a couple of tidy one-twos but didn’t really happen for him

Godden 4 - Big miss obviously. Nice play to put Gyok through

Gyokeres 7 - what a goal, had some good moments where he looked a handful, otherwise didn’t think he was at it and his decision making at its worst

Subs - Tavares, Palmer and Dabo all made a big impact

Allen didn't get involved enough but the number of passes made is as dependent on others playing it to him as it is him making space to receive. There were a number of occasions when he just wasn't utilised. An example being him charging into the box and Gyokeres not squaring it to him for a tap in. Without O'Hare, Allen's energy is going to be needed.

Moore - 5 - terrible goalkeeping for the goal. A few standard saves, and an excellent take from a low cross. Still can’t up the score though - horrible mistake for the goal.

Eccles - 4 - really unfortunate as he’s a good footballer, but today he certainly wasn’t. Even being out of position doesn’t excuse basic passing and decision making. Shame, but he’ll come back stronger. Does worry me though based on Dabo being a sick note recently.

Hyam - 6.5- part of the poor defending for the goal, but really solid overall. Brought the ball out a few times too.

McFadzean - 7.5 - leader. Brought the ball out a few times with confidence and looked assured defensively.

Panzo - 8.5 - waiting for something to go wrong and there be a reason he hasn’t had much game time elsewhere , as he was excellent today. Uber confident on the ball and we need to make use of him being that extra ball carrier.

Bidwell - 5 - not a wing back despite his history saying otherwise. I think he can offer something but needs Dabo on the other side else we end up with two defensive wing backs.

Sheaf - 7.5 - kept the ball moving as always. Caught out once in possession but looked assured on the ball and his ball playing ability is still underrated.

Hamer - 6.5 - don’t agree he dominated. Tried the Hollywood too many times first half. Lot better second. When he turns up he makes the difference. Also helped he had more space to play second half so could get on the ball.

Allen - 6 - not a 10, and probably would admit that himself. Anonymous and not going to create us anything. Still a big part to play in our season though.

Gooden - 6 - shocker of a miss but actually think he was slightly more involved than usual today.

Gyokeres - 7.5 - when on the ball he made stuff happen, including the obvious! Closely marked most of the game but got involved where he could. Such a talisman now.

Subs

Dabo - 8 - immediate impact and obvious for all to see. Please stay fit!!

Palmer - 5 - think I saw a different game to others. Looked way off the pace and messed up a few simple passes. Confident he’ll come good, but annoyed he’s so far off.

Taveres - 6.5 wanted to run, and we wanted him too - an improvement on last year. Used his running on and off the ball well, but a few loose touches.

Walker - 6 - didn’t see him do too much if I’m honest. Again though can offer something, he just needs confidence.

Moore - poor judgement for the goal, but got himself in good positions for the rest of game
Bidwell - again poor for the goal but did improve as we got further into the game.
Panzo - great debut that is a real coup for us to have him
Hyam, McFazdean, Sheaf - solid without being spectacular
Eccles - Had a poor game which I’m sure he’ll be desperate to put right in the near future in his preferred position.
Hamer - booking was so unnecessary at that point in the game, then has to play within himself as a result. Passed the ball OK but he is better than he showed today.
Allen - just didn’t get in the game, and as a result we looked disconnected between midfield and attack
Godden - shocking miss by his standard, seemed like he got sucked into Allen’s space which left him nowhere near Gyokeres and as such appeared pretty ineffective.
Gyokeres - fantastic goal, really shitty decision making for a lot of the game otherwise. Wish he had run at their defenders more as they were absolutely shitting it at the prospect.
Dabo & Tavares were the subs that I felt changed the game (with a shout out to Palmer too ) they tried to get things moving forwards and we looked far better once they were introduced. Walker came on and did a job trying to support Gyokeres.
Set pieces/crossing today was absolute shite.
Referees need to sort out this holding/grappling bollocks, virtually headlocks at times by the Sunderland defenders.

Moore - 5. Poor for the goal
Bidwell - 5. Seemed very high up the pitch at times yet didn't look dangerous going forward. Crossing poor.
Eccles - 5. Probably played so Dabo could come on late. If you consider him as playing out of position (which I do) I'll give him a bit of leeway, but wasn't very good.
Hyam - 6. Pretty solid.
Fadz - 6. As Hyam
Panzo - 7.5. Looked good defensively and had a cracking shot. Misplaced a few passes but MoM
Sheaf - 6. Pretty average for him.
Hamer - 6. As above but with the obligatory unnecessary yellow card.
Allen - 5. Totally anonymous.
Gyokeres - 7. Did a lot of work and a great finish.
Godden - 5. Didn't really get into the game and missed a good chance.

Dabo - 6. Better than Eccles
Palmer - 6.5. Better than Allen
Walker - 6. Seemed more involved than Godden even though he didn't really get any chances.
Tavares - 6.5. Looked to get at them but still got some work to do on some aspects, like control.

Panzo - great debut in a tough environment. Seems an upgrade on JCS at first glance but hopefully it's not flash in the pan.
Vik- picked up where he left off, unreal goal.
Godden- how the hell does he miss that chance. If there is one player you bet on to finish that in our team it's him.
Moore - incredibly poor keeping for the goal. He was nowhere near it and that goal doesn't happen if he doesn't come out.
Allen - wasn't the right player to start - he does offer something to the team but not yesterday.
Thought the subs changed the game by creating wide overloads which it was clear we needed to do after the first 20 mins as the squeezed the play centrally. Didn't have the personal first 60 mins to hit the byline.
Overall we weren't great and got a point at away from home. Hopefully we sharpen up before Rotherham.
