Shaw: I won't ditch the diamond (1 Viewer)

What is being forgotten is there' another guy at the party, Lee Carsley, seems quieter but often successful managers come in pairs and the second in command just as important. In years gone by there were famous ones such as Mercer/Allison, Clough/Taylor, Mee/Howe, Shankly/Paisley and dare i say Sillett/Curtis. As regards how many games do we give them, well how long is a piece of string. Do we wait until we lose a couple, what if we win one, lose one. Fisher has said and we know he always tells the truth he wants someone in place for the Stevenage game. That gives Shaw/Carsley 2 matches, what will be the tipping point ?

Apparently it's a 4-3-1-2 when Shaw plays it

There is no difference in the 2 really because the guy in the middle e.g. Jennings naturally stays back a bit anyway, forming a diamond.

I know that your comment was against the ATP.

yeah, that was my point.

People were saying on Tuesday that Shaw scrapped the diamond and was playing 4-3-2-1. It was just Anti Thorn people trying to put a different spin on it!

To me the biggest difference was the work ethic of the players, I didn't see no major change in tactics or system

Shaw said that himself in the interview. It's down to the players to put the effort in to make the diamond work. We know it does work, its just how it's used by the players, which determines its effectiveness on the day.

The comment he made about baker was good too. I doubt Thorn ever told him he was going missing. It could explain bakers improved game the other day.

I wasnt putting any spin on it i just said what i saw. If it was the diamond then it was a much wider use of it as it looked to me very much like 4-1-3-2. So from your post you agree theres no difference between the 2 but you insist on criticising anyway? Fool.
