I take it you mean away games in the league Macca. All the ranting was meant for you by the way, just the subject as always pissed me off.
Any league games really, home or away. I mean I think the arsenal draw is great but I d get more of a buzz out of 3 points in the league
If I decide to go I’ll get a ticket just like I did for the Chelsea game. My problem is with the ultra holy fans that seem to think only them that go week in week out should get tickets. I've spent a lot more on the Sky Blues over the years than a lot of the kids on here preaching bile

I think peoples issue, well mine is anyway, is people constantly slagging the club off and saying I'm mental to go and watch that shit. Then when this comes along asking me to get them a ticket. This is the only way I feel I can stick my twos up back to them and say do one.

So I've got a season ticket and do 120 mile round trip to the Ricoh, i do this cos i can afford it, one day though i suspect money and other priorities will stop me from being able to go, will this make me any less of a fan?
There's many people who've spent a lot of time and money over the years and now can't, and i understand why some of them fancy a day out at arsenal, i don't think we should slag them off but equally priority rightly goes to those currently funding the club.

I do remember the overwhelming feeling at the Chelsea game that we wouldn't be in this mess if many of these people turned up more regularly. Got no problem with those without the time or money, frustrated though at the chicken and egg situation of those who don't come due to quality of which revenue is a direct indicator. Guess this is what stops us from being a big club and probably always will

Why do we have all this nonsense when a glamour game comes up. I have never been a season ticket holder, but still went every home game and away for many years. I dont do it so much now ( pick and choose). I stopped attending when i was made redundant, had a bit of the big c (that was shite by the way) but would still make the effort to go when i could.
We are all fans of this club and thats all that matters.
Anyway with potentially 10,000 tickets on offer i'm sure there's plenty to go round. PUSB

I understand you're point but what about fans who will take their children as they might not get to see the city at the emirates in their childhood and its a dream to go to a place like that..even adults may take this approach..its not like I'm going their for a while .its an opportunity for many .I go 50% of games in a season..I'm no less of a fan.I'm not going to the Emirates btw

I'd love to go up to the City more, but the fact of the matter is that I can't afford it. I pick and choose what matches I want to go to and given the choice, i'd rather see Cov take on Arsenal away than fucking Yeovil, and you would be the same if you were im my position.
This constant moaning is the reason i'm put off going to matches anymore. At the end of the day, we will sell out our allocation, make alot of noise and have a good day, and i'd like to do that without grumpy season ticket holders all around me 'Tutting', thinking that you're better than everyone else because you 'go up every week'. Good for you. I'm glad you do, but some of us can't.
Lets say the 'Part-time fans' aren't allowed to buy tickets for the Arsenal game. You won't sell an allocation of tickets, thats for sure. The result? We look like a shitty part-time club and you moan that no-one goes to the games anyone, not even the important games and everyone thinks that Coventry City and its fans are even more of joke than they already are.

Ludicrous. The club needs revenue and the club needs support at home. It does not need supporters who decide to argue about one away game and it's allocation.
When at university with no money I slept on train stations and used mail vans to attend matches. I used virtually all my disposable income to attend matches.
We are debating one game. A game when everyone suddenly decides they are a fan and always have been.'

I have held a season ticket for best part of 30 years and my dad for longer. I attend no more than a few away games this season and he probably travels no more than once every couple of years. He is approaching 70 and like me has never been to the Emirates. We are unlikely to get the opportunity to ever go there again together and so we will be going. If that disappoints you, then excuse me if I don't give a flying fk! I have never considered myself any more of a fan than those who attend once a year whether at home or away. We are no glory club, many have to make sacrifices to go and the club as a whole let alone the team, give them much reason to make those sacrifices all too often. We have under-achieved for longer than I can remember. This is not George Orwell and all fans really are equal and entitled to attend as and when they wish. If we start winning and theyare made to feel welcome who knows they may return more frequently and it could snowball.

Who deserves the tickets - the season ticket holders - or do we have a lottery to decide - 30,000 in the hat and those who get drawn out well lucky them?

There has to be a hierachy in limited supply. To suggest a supporter of a team who commits to the season is not at the top and should not get maximum benifit is ludricous. If you can only afford to go to a couple of games fair enough - there are 23 at home so go to 2 of them.

This is not about who deserves the tickets. There will be plenty of tickets for regular attendees. This new hypothetical and futile argument that you are now turning to suit a different point, was originially and ultimately about people being criticised for wanting to support their club. If they get a ticket good luck to them. ST holders always have had first refusal on tickets and I don't envisage that changing.

This whole issue is silly..we are likely to get 9000 oversl anyway.we have 5800 ST holders.they will all get tickets.I think people are suggesting that unless you're a regular you are not welcome to a remaining ticket and are a glory fan or armchair fan..considering we get 10k plus at home why are we suggesting its armchair fans going.
Also we averaged 1k away last year..so in theory 4800 ST roughly are picking the glamorous away tie too

Don't agree. My "point" is that this particular fixture will attract lots of interest in so called supporters that actually have zero interest in the club at all and will purely be intersted in a day out in London (though would have less intersted if it was Leyton Orient).
Worst game for me at the Ricoh was Chelsea at home. Showed to me why we are what we are.
Then again I'm a troll so there you go - still don't get that at all in truth.
