CBS issues (42 Viewers)

I mean one thing is for certain, after this whole shit show no sane person can deny that Wasps regard CCFC with nothing other than complete contempt.

They do not give a single fuck about us and whilst most people on this board knew that anyway, they still embarrassingly tried to push PR saying they wanted to partner with us and all that shit. They’ve now truly alienated the population.

You'd imagine the pitch would be sorted a lot quicker if their games at the CBS started to get called off too.
Think they're just hanging on for dear life at the moment and we're just collateral damage

From what I can gather across other social media, the frustration with it in general has caused a bit of pressure from fans on CCFC to pick up.

Or wasps providing an appropriate pitch in good time
It’s the good time which nobody knows the answer too and how much time the EFL allow

The report the EFL carried out would have had advisory points I presume , need to know these timescales

Will it be a referee that does the next inspection or do they continue with the specialist ?

Coventry City chief executive urges stadium landlords Wasps to install new pitch

That’s Saturdays story it’s it? Nothing new has been said I don’t think. It is the reason I’m cautiously optimistic. Seems we ccfc want a freshly laid pitch and maybe the report says urgent repair is all that’s required. Don’t care which solution happens so long as the game is on Saturday and we can move on and agree ccfc and wasps how we can keep it that way

The only realistic option I see is a patch up job till the end of the season or the club leaving the city again and preparing legal action against wasps for loss of revenue to try and send them under.

The club aren't going to pay for a pitch, and even if they did Wasps wouldn't agree to it. Any gentlemans agreement between the club and wasps to off set the rent against the cost of a new pitch would not be honoured by wasps and wasps aren't going to allow it to be put into contract/writing.

We will not be playing home games away from CBS stadium this season .I would estimate at least half of ST holders will ask for a refund if they did .The cost would be over £1million plus so much bad publity as if we have not got enough. The pitch will get sorted .

Interesting, see if there’s much traction in this

Must admit I find it baffling to organise a protest when CCFC are playing an away fixture at that time, Northampton Saints game on the Sunday 9th October is a much better bet surely

If it didn’t clash with a CCFC game I’d be up for going

Quite. Yet the football club are the ones being accused of trying to 'distress' Wasps...
Makes no sense.

Agree about 9th. Ultimately think whatever is organised we need to get behind. If it is 17th then so be it. Only 2000 will be allowed at St Andrews anyway. What we dont need is this being organised then loads of people deciding to make up lots of sep[erate small protests. This needs to be as big and strong as it can be.

Hopefully this ‘protest’ doesn’t involve the organisers cuddling up to Nick Eastwood or anyone else from Wasps like one of the last ones did

Leave the Wasp fans out of the demonstration and focus on the team bus and directors, we don't need things getting ugly between fans

Of the very few that turn up nowadays - I can’t see them taking too much interest anyway, they’ve always looked down their nose at CCFC

Not seen it mentioned anywhere but as we're renting the Arena from Wasps, why can't we agree with them to REDUCE the next rent payment by £500K and we put that into a new pitch ? They ultimately will have paid for it (keeps them and us happy) and we haven't gifted them anything (keeps our fans happy).

They wouldnt accept that. Ultimately ends up in them losing out on 500k

There will be a few contacts towards the organisers trying to persuade them to reign it in no doubt....
One of said contacts on our infamous one was said to have come from someone high up on the CCFC side, however...

Hoping the silence today is a positive. We simply must play on the current pitch - there is no other option. You can't order a new playing surface on Deliveroo the last time I checked. It is a process that will take weeks/months to plan and implement.

The current pitch is what we have, so get it sorted. Are we seriously saying the pitch will still be dangerous 3 weeks after the last game of 7s was played? A team of experts working on it daily for 20 days, in the middle of summer, and still not playable? I think we deserve a more thorough explanation at this stage,

Coventry City’s early season schedule appears to have suffered another blow with reports from West Yorkshire claiming that Huddersfield Town are unable to reverse Saturday’s fixture.

Serious doubts remain over the condition of the CBS Arena pitch after an independent grass specialist confirmed it wasn’t safe ahead of Tuesday night’s scheduled home match with Wigan Athletic, which was postponed at the weekend. The Sky Blues fear there won’t be a significant improvement by next weekend and have asked Huddersfield if there’s a possibility of flipping the match to the John Smith’s Stadium to ensure the game goes ahead.

But our sister title YorkshireLive understands that a fixture reversal appears to be ‘off the table’. City’s CEO Dave Boddy admitted at the weekend that there could be policing and staffing issues, while there would presumably also be commercial considerations for Town to organise a home game at such short notice.

So now what?

This is the sort of thing the local media should be over. Is there even a pitch available if we handed someone the cash today. Is there a surplus to requirements pitch ready to go as with the Leeds / Spurs situation.

Would also like to see the local media pressing Wasps on what exactly they are doing to resolve the issues as at the moment it seems they are doing nothing. They are quick enough to get Wasps PR out, how about asking them some questions.

100%. Listening to the phone-in now and was hoping they might have someone on who dealt with Spurs or whoever re: drop- in pitches; plus getting something from Wasps who haven’t spoken at all yet.

What's been said?

Only heard a bit but Simon Gilbert said he thinks our offer to help with the pitch funding was to have it taken out of our rent later on so Wasps said no.

CWR say they're asking questions to all parties but Wasps are silent.

Didn't hear what was said about groundsharing
