He did, but when pushed he said... "An approach has been made by 'being creative'."

All points to Harry Maguire.

loaning Walker Kane or waghorn in return then and splitting wages

This forensic analysis of Robins' inverview is funny. We've just been beaten, we've played poorly, things are going against us, is it any wonder he's pissed off?

Some people seem desperate for there to be a rift between the manager and the board. I suspect there isn't anything of the sort, but weirdly that seems to annoy people.

There fucking should be. The answer each time he pulls a rabbit out of a hat is “now do it without the hat”

Well sadly nobody recorded his reaction to Dave firing up the Uber for Hyam

the real point is he said he’s used to dealing with adversity. Why, with record season ticket sales and no doubt merchandise is he describing adverse working conditions

Well I'm a big fan of Robins, but if he seriously can't handle having a senior player sold for the 1st time since we were promoted to the championship, then he's in the wrong job.

I somehow suspect that he knows how the world works though and all will be fine around the water cooler on Monday.

I don’t get this. It’s not about the sale. It’s about the lack of budget to put out a competitive squad. No one cares if we sell someone as long as we don’t get ripped off, we care whether the squad is moving forwards or backwards overall. And arguably this is the first season it’s gone backwards under Robins.

He has rebuilt the squad many times but come on, Hyam being rushed out the door a week before the window shuts was never part of the plan.

He sounds very realistic about it all, frustrated but knows and already has things going on to find solutions. Cant be easy keeping all his players positive with al going on, but i hope he does het a chance one day to have full support with backing to help him do his job without his hands tied.

Lesser managers have been given more and have done way less then MR. Hope one day he gets the chance and the backing with an owner that doesn't see 12th in the championship as the limits of the clubs capability.

Arguably. All I heard over the summer was 'if we keep the big 3, I'll take that', we do that but then sell Hyam and people lose bladder control.

Lets see who we bring in.

We haven't seen enough of the players we have brought in to properly judge if we are weaker overall than last season. I'm not sure we are tbh. It's fine to be concerned, but some people need to give their heads a wobble, some really hysterical takes.

It’s flogging Hyam for a quick buck that people don’t like. The price is a piss take considering the going rate in the division.

Dunno why everyone is losing their marbles over this. Anything over a million and I’m snapping hands off. Very average defender.

Since he’s been here he’s had money to spend in the lower leagues and buy quality players for those leagues largely from the proceeds of Wilson and Maddison - the Wilson money for Newcastle was pretty much what we also paid for Hamer so actually this is a totally different situation where he’s now having players sold to keep cash flow positive and having to sign inferior players

It’s delusional to refer to a model. Most players we’ve sold since his arrival haven’t generated anything like the cash those sales continued to give us

He hasn't 'rebuilt the squad many times', that's nonsense. He has mainly been able to improve on the squad in the past 3-4 years. It's be ages since we sold anyone, and prior to SM players that left it was more a case of us outgrowing them than us cashing in and we improved with the replacements - we sell Chaplain, we sign Godden for example. We lose a loannee like Walsh and we spend 1.5 million on Hamer. Biamou goes, we spend £1 miion on Vik.

This is the 1st player we seem to have sold in a few years to balance the books, but it is one we can live with imo, and there will be a replacement. No time for panic.

The question is will he be the only sale-I’m not convinced

Selling defenders isn’t a problem or something new over the years we sold Jeff Blockley, Garry Gillespie and Phil Babb all for at the time British records fees for defenders but large chunks of those received fees were re-invested in the team and that’s the difference doesn’t matter if they get £1.5 million, 5 million or 10 mill. for Hyam or anyone else for that matter not a penny will go into the squad we have to somehow get rid of these owners as this will happen time & time again.

Regardless of the circumstances best of luck to him. Can't begrudge him for going one bit, deserved really - despite some on here often questioning his championship credentials and even going as far as to say Rose is better than him which is laughable. Been superb for us and racked up over 190 appearances, time for him to earn some money.

Farewell Dom

Of course, there is a lag and it may well have been the Wilson money that financed Hamer, so what, the point being that they did invest it to strengthen the squad at that point.

Not forgetting the fact we operate at a loss, as do all Championship clubs pretty much. What do we do about that? I'd prefer the club became fully sustainable and operated entirely within its means, but given this is not really possible in order to stay competitive in this league, a cautious approach I think is OK, rather that than gambling with the future of the club, surely? Lots of clubs will go pop in the next 5 years, let's not be one of them.

One of the first 3 you mentioned is probably the replacement we've got lined up.
