Correct, however Kilbane shouldn't have been given it in the first place, fact is his legs have all but gone and he offers nothing going forward. He is at best a utility player

I can't work out if that's a wind up post or you are a complete idiot.

I was at the game.... He knocked two balls within about 2 minutes straight out of play and had a little giggle to himself, people rightly had a go at him and he said something back, Hes a disgrace to the shirt. Hes not captain material.

Is this a serious thread ?

We have some of the worst fans of any club in the country who seem to only turn up to games to boo and abuse players.

Now some are getting all precious because they got abuse back ? Perhaps the fan in question should have put his hand up and told the ref .....

Pathetic

I expect that they would be banned from the workplace though, do you think this is what should happen to those abusing players? There must be some sort of law that gives you the right to work without being abused.

Usual, double standards amongst football fans though.

They may well get banned from the workplace, but it still wouldn't give the employee the right to act in an unprofessional manner and show the company in a bad light.
And to make it worse, KK is our captain and so should be doing the exact opposite.

If you work in the service industry then its not acceptable to swear at your customers.

It's not fully transferable like that though is it? If it is seen in that manner than the players are the product and therefore it's like getting pissed of at a bag of potatoes and then them telling you to 'fuck off'.

Where has this nonsense about service industry and customers come from ??

It is sport and he had a few words with a fan

Sport is part of the service indusrty. We pay for the entertainment in watching them play, therefore they are providing a service.

Anyone one here who has had to work in a customer facing role will tell you if someone is abusive to you just walk away and report it.

If you are abusive back then you are likely to get into trouble with your employer.

Are you taking the piss ? He is paid to kick a ball around a park ,not to take abuse of a bunch of morons in the stand

I was sat directly inline with kilbane when he swore several times at our fans! Prior to his out burst he played the ball out of play under no pressure! He was openly booed for that butthe swearing came from kilbane first and the response of bAd language followed from the fans!

The performance was abysmal and we travelled 70 miles and paid £40 and I feel I deserve to voice my opinion without been swore at! I shell out hundreds on my team a season and my money contributes to his wage! He has acted totally unprofessionally as club captain! Other players around him were also getting abuse during the game including hussey and sheffers but they didn't respond.

He is an experienced player and I think he should have been able to walk away with out responding!

and many people are paid to work in call centres, sell double glazing, spread the word of the lord!. They all still have to put up with abuse, why should Kilbane be any different?

speaking hypothetically here but if you had friends which you might not then you would probably stick up for them when there getting abused

If it was in my work place where my reputation in my high profile job was under scrutiny I think I would reserve the abuse and let my mates stick up for themselves!

Am I the only person on kilbane's side?

our fans were more of a hindrance than a help second half getting in the players backs today. Yes it was poor hussey especially so hoofing it foward but I don't blame kilbane for having a pop back as he was getting serious abuse.

He actually goes up in my estimation at least he was trying out there. he had a good run and shots just after it to. We need more men on the pitch, not players who are scared to say boo, let alone get on the ball or try and help a team mate out.

Where was Barton 2nd half? Jennings was shocking baker back to his usual self.

Kilbane is completely laughable, he's had 1 good half this season vs Blues and has done nothing else. He doesn't track back, he doesn't tackle, he can't pass without hitting it long. I honestly don't know what he brings to this team, we have a strange habit of appointing god awful captains and he's the latest in a long line. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned Dublin giving the 'shh' sign to the City fans after scoring, that wouldn't bother me at all. If he had turned round after telling people to fuck off and scored I would have said well done you proved us wrong. None of us want him to fail, we want to do well but he's been god awful. Ironically the other thing he did all game was run towards their goal after the altercation and win a corner. I wonder if these people asking if players should get abused were giving Marlon any abuse on Tuesday, if any were there at all.

He's our joint leading scorer. He also made another on Tuesday and played 120mins. He's an experienced pro and brings a lot to the team.

It seems like he lost it when some bellends were slating Jordan Clarke who wasn't fully fit. I say fair play to the bloke.

Cody and Baker are joint also, doesn't mean he's got the right to give it to the people who pay money towards his wages.

Have to be honest I'm very annoyed with what he done, but he did clap the fans off at the end.

I don't think Kilbane really done much wrong as an individual person, if people are giving you abuse they can't really moan when they get back

However Kilbane as a professional and club captain should have had more self control and it doesn't really set a good example of someone players can look up to if he loses his cool like this

People say he isn't paid to take abuse but if you take a look at the majority of jobs which involve customer interaction, if a customer is rude or offensive to you and you started swearing your head off at them you would probably be sacked

some and al lot of coventry fans are able to dish out abuse but can't take it is all that's wrong and when they get it they moan and groan, man up don't give it out if you can't take it.

Good man.

yes it's not ideal for players especially the captain to have a go at fans but in my opinion from being in that block and seeing it first hand was that kilbane's response was understandable, refreshing and in many ways justified

I would think with these small enclosed grounds with the fans all close together the fans shouting abuse will have much more of a negative effect this season than say in the Ricoh where it likely doesn't carry to the pitch

Totally justified, and actually although he lacked quality today, he worked his balls off again.

He didn't deserve the abuse and I'm glad he gave it back.
