City keeper linked to Villa

Rumours abound that Coventry City goalkeeper Keiren Westwood could be heading for Aston Villa in the summer.

Westwood is one of a number of players at the Ricoh Arena who are out of contract at the end of the season and can leave for nothing on July 1st.

Newcastle United have also been linked with the Republic Of Ireland international who is currently out with a thigh injury.

Will Friedel be retiring soon?

It would make sense as it is local and he wouldn't have to move house now he has a baby.

Reckon he's out for the rest of the season, so I doubt we'll ever see him play for us again. ................... But will I miss him? Nah!

It'll be a shame to see Keiran go, especially to Villa, but he's been a good, reliable player for the club and if he does go I wish him all the best. It makes sense for him to go, it's fairly local, he'll be on more money and in the premier league. I just hope we can replace him seeing as Ireland is injured and is quite injury prown anyway. Also Quirke is out of contract in the summer.

sad when he goes but not bothered whatsoever if he goes to Villa. Difficult to get worked up about them now we haven't shared a league for a decade

Exactly. It is just the same as him going to any other club.

I know if I got offered a job on 5 or 10 times as much money I would take it :)

Quirke is on a first year pro contract, its quite normal to only offer a 1 year contract at that age.
