Anything uncomfortable was 'spoken about afterwards' which is fantastic for communication.

Lot of random platitudes with no substance. I suspect it's all just doing something to be seen to be doing something. Anything said in the meetings won't chance any of their plans, large or small, for the club or our match going experience.

Part of the overall budget includes the sale of a player each season and CCFC haven’t sold a player for a significant fee for the last couple of seasons.

This is the part that worries me. What happens when we have either sold all of our players of value or no fucker wants to buy them? We have been fortunate that the investments made in Hamer and Gyokores look like they will pay off but we’re not always going to recruit players of their (and O’Hares) calibre every few years and some of those investments we do try are going to fail.

Then what’s the plan?

Sweet sweet fiscal responsibility in L2

Did nobody think to ask “it’s clear SISU cannot/do not want to fund a Championship football club, so why the fuck isn’t the club for sale - how do they expect to achieve their short, medium and long term goals without significant investment?

That was exactly what was said. This is not a once and done. Sisu and ccfc have said club not for sale
Ccfc have said it’s incremental improvements without significant investment
The answers aren’t joined up or logical

The fawning that has gone on over Big Dave really is embarrassing all round.
Grendel was ahead of the curve on this one. Boddy is useless and talks absolute shite.

Thanks for your efforts @Sky Blue Pete, this is utter nonsense and frankly Boddy takes all the supporters for fools, it’s embarrassing. He’s totally inept at managing a football club of this size, probably can’t believe the position he's in himself and doesn’t deserve to be there. I stopped reading after his ridiculous contradictory comment about Dom Hyam. Not at all related to cash flow, But part of the model? Sooo where has it gone then Dave? I look forward to the 1.5m we spend on transfer fee and wages in Jan then. Actually why don’t you go and spend it on wages for couple of decent free transfers in defence? Save it sitting in the pot for 4 months.

Due to SS needing to leave the meeting after 30 mins, the Car park B fencing/barrier was discussed. DB advised that there are no plans to change this as it works well, separating visiting and home fans leaving the stadium after games. SS agreed and advised that they are looking to extend it a little
They could at least try and make it past the first question without feeding us a load of BS. Anyone with a brain cell can see this is a complete disaster hence why we are the only club that does it.

There was separation on exit at Hull. Had to walk up by the coaches into the car park rather than directly through the park. Don't agree with what they are doing, but other clubs do something similar.

Hull was a farce though. Interesting Norwich had minimal barriers between us and them with no attempt to contain at the end and nothing untoward happened.

Yeah, don't disagree. I wanted a stroll through the park. 🤣

And don't get me started on the traffic.

Seeing your responses makes me understand more of why I was sad after the meeting

His biggest challenge is managing expectation wow

So angry about this, we are the 12th biggest city in the country, we currently attract the tenth highest attendances in the division. We play in a 32k stadium.

It’s his own expectations that are the issue. No Dave/Joy, I am not please to be back where you fucking found us, I’m relieved. This is not a lower league team on a jolly it’s a proud club you took to new depths then luckily Robins pulled us back.

If Boddy hasn’t got the wherewithal to take the building blocks of a Championship club and turn them into such a club he should go back from whence he came and let someone competent have a go.

Our “expectations” are a continuation of the last four or five years. They are that Sisu will leave us *at least* in the same position they found us in. That we have a ground where we can manage to put a playable pitch out (oh that’s your biggest challenge is it? Maybe have a word with the woman whose idea it was). And that when we have a manager who is significantly above the norm, we find a way to give him the basic tools required to do the job.

If Sisu don’t have access to the working capital required to put the club back where they were then step aside so someone else can.

So fucking sick of the constant bullshit and gaslighting for the last 15 years. And honestly the threat of admin doesn’t scare me. Sisu lose a buttload of money, we write a season off, maybe a relegation, and the decision on what price the club goes for is made by a rational entity and not someone mad about throwing good money after bad at a fucking football club, the well known money pits.

And when the last thing we heard from Joy was “Premier League and beyond” then frankly someone needs to explain what’s happened.

Damn right. The club at the moment is like the woman in Gerald’s Game.

So by Boddy’s own admission our ‘top of the curve’ was the end of last season so why haven’t SISU sold up as Fisher said they would?

Even their own CEO is saying we’ve hit our ceiling without ‘massive investment’.

Couldn’t have said it better. It feels like Joy/Dave have conveniently forgotten the first few seasons of SISUs tenure and the relegations. It’s like they’re patting themselves on the back that they’ve taken a plucky L2 Club up to the dizzy heights of 12th in the Championship and we should be grateful to them. No Joy, MR & AV have miraculously fixed what you completely fucked up years ago and we’re (finally) back where we started.

Specific question raised by Leamington and Warwick about tickets and how the current reciprocal model of working with supporters groups has worked really well but maybe given a change of memberships it isn’t working as it was. TS agreed to discuss outside of the meeting

What did they mean by this?

Thank you for all your efforts Pete.

So depressing there is clearly absolutely no aspirations to build on the last two decent seasons and our hopes for this year are just survive and hope for the best.
Not exactly a great sell for future season tickets either is it

I suppose covid and cost of living may be reasons for the change and the lack of a big sale but even so

These are all relative things though. Like moaning about a bad pitch, it’s the same for all sides. If anything we were better protected than most thanks to already chopping our gates off at the knees by moving away. And we got promoted during COVID.

They’ve told us very clearly before their model doesn’t work at this level. So find a new one or sod off cos 23 other clubs manage it.

I don’t see why you’d buy and keep a football club and spend your time moaning the finances are fucked. No shit, so don’t buy a football club. Or organise a revolution at the EFL. But don’t moan people expect their club to compete at the level they’re at.

They don't want to talk publicly about how many tickets supporters clubs get for games.

Which makes me think what to they actually get out of it?

They’re not REALLY giving their investors any returns are they - net investment on paper has been pretty much zero they just have paper debt (accrued and compounded interest) right?
Which they’re never going to fucking re-coup especially if they don’t sell at the top of the cycle and this is obviously the ceiling for them?

So what the fuck are they waiting for?

Very interesting
I doubt DB himself will have been told if the owners are covertly negotiating to sell the club so he was probably giving an honest answer based on the information he has
The story in The Times business section, which wasn't reported in the same newspaper's sports section is unlikely to have been dreamed up by a bored business journo
It's difficult to see how it would have come to their notice if the information hadn't been passed to The Times
Anyway we'll see in due course

I Hope they are trying to sell, they've been here 15 years, please not another 15, weren't the Oystons at Blackpool forced out, can't see that happening here as they're running the business on a tight ship and in that perspective are not doing anything wrong.
