If as expected, Next weekends games are postponed due to the proximity to the funeral, we will need to fit 5 extra games in after the world cup

Thats going to be Saturday Tuesday for the remainder of the season.

We dont have the squad for that we alll know. I really think we're massively in the shit

not that it helps much I doubt next Saturday will be postponed but the 3 game disadvantage and now this with a thin squad and apathetic owners will mean it’s very hard to see surviving

I think next weekends games will be fine. Just this weekends that are postponed.

I've got Sunderland down for Reading next Weds night and then Watford on Saturday and having spoken to them just now, they're carrying on like they're on and see no reason why they'll be called off.

Still not ideal for us though with one more game to add to those we already need to squeeze in.

I'm more concerned about the fact that this is yet another month that the club hasn't received any ticketing/F&B/parking income.

One home fixture in two months. There's also the WC break coming up in November.

One game now in two months

A little bit dramatic this early in the season. Yes it's going to be tough but there could still be signings and we still have a decent squad.

The more games we have postponed the better. When the takeover happens and lots of new players in Jan, we’ll then storm the league……. Or not….. 🤣

there are only 2 spare midweeks between October and the world cup - fill them in, and there is literally no rest it is literally 2 games a week every week
we are actually playing again on World cup quarter final day - does that go ahead if england are involved ?

Yeah but think of the cash flow after November

I cant understand why football is the only thing called off?

It’s the closest thing this country has to a mass religion. In a country that’s very keen to be seen to be doing “the right thing” then it’s pretty much the only thing that moves the needle. Who would even fucking notice the rugby ffs.

I think policing perhaps has a lot to do with it to be honest. PL and EFL matches obviously require significant security/policing, ultimately drawing resources from other events down in London that will take place throughout weekend in tribute to the Queen.

Same issue will obviously happen next weekend which is a bit of a concern.

Assuming these rescheduled games will be for after the World Cup, the second half of the season is going to be chaos.
Hopefully the pitch survives the winter.

Will the January transfer window work as normal? If so, a good window this season could be the difference between survival or relegation

Difficult window to recruit in given its a sellers market and the club will almost certainly be forced to sell a player. I doubt it'll be a particularly positive window.

It's worth baring in mind that recruitment will be even more difficult if we still find ourselves in the relegation zone come January.

Yeah, I'd imagine we'll see interest in Gyokeres and O'Hare again and I can't see the club being in the position to say no

Great North Run going ahead too and that requires a huge police presence.

Also, not sure there is much need for the OB at my daughter's U13 game which has been postponed.

We’re seriously fucked. Be a miracle if we stay up.
It won't be a miracle, but I have seen situations like this before over the years, where teams deemed too good to go down have been relegated. Sometimes it just seems like everything that can go wrong does go wrong. At the moment it feels like that to me. Hopefully things will change in our favour soon.

Not football related but 'Last night of the Proms' also cancelled.
The powers that be have no idea how many of us common people would join together at football matches and Proms in the park or on TV and show respect to HM.
Disrespectful to millions of us from our betters.
Soap box alert - Could it be the grey men in suits, who make these decisions, will get invited to the public events which us commoners will be excluded from? Thus they don't care about how we oiks are affected?
Rant over. PUSB

Yes at this rate the club could be heading into administration.
