How would you set up to change it? (5 Viewers)

We've all been crying out for a change of shape, and with the Rose injury we will surely have too?

The good news is it seems Kane Kelly and more importantly Callum will be back for Boro on the 1st October. Lets muddle through and hope for the best v Brum but as of Boro I would go...

Moore

Kane Panzo Doyle Bidwell
Kelly Sheaf
Hamer O'Hare
Godden Gyok

Return of the box.

Kane and Bidwell more natural Full backs, I feel Kelly and Sheaf could do a great job of screening Panzo and Doyle

Going forward we all know how dangerous Hamer, Callum, Gyok and Godden can be

Subs wise

Wilson, Dabo, Fadz, Palmer, Allen, Waghorn, Walker, Tavares

A fresh Dabo may do more than the shit he has recently, Palmer has it in his locker to open a defence and we all know Tavares has pace. If leading, waghorn on for Godden to hold the ball up

Something needs to change, don't see why this wouldn't work

Sorry but that's a horrible team, much worse than we have.

Not sure the box works with a flat back 4. We'd be wide open down either side.

Kelly should only be used as backup, fresh legs after 70 mins type of thing. He hasnt got the quality required.

And although O'Hare is said "to be back" after international break, does that mean back training or back in the side? I'm thinking the former.

Hamer too far forward, ohare won't be ready that quick although ahead of schedule and nostalgia wanting Kane and Kelly who aren't at the level. Two footballing left footers at cb and despite Fadz age and lack of pace he adds experience, organisation, ability to read the game, physicality and being a leader.

No width with that proposed line up, very narrow. Thought we looked better last night with Doyle on the right. So would stick with that. My preference would be the same line up bar Allen. I get he is busy, but Ive never thought him good enough at this level. Cant wait for O Hare to return.

The team that ended last night, change Wilson for Moore and either Palmer or Waghorn for Allen and that's our best currently imo

Beat me to it, agree 👍

I wasn't even sure whether Allen was supposed to be playing as a 6 or a 10 last night, but ineffectual at both.

If we go to a flat back four we need someone in front of it, Sheaf has done it so could a fit Kelly or could Panzo do it ? Overlapping full backs nothing new and plenty teams do it as for the two centre-backs a big question mark probably McFadz and Doyle unless we able to bring someone once Cahill been mentioned a few times but very unlikely imo.

I'd much rather see a change of personnel than a change of system for the next game. Although looking at last night's bench I'm not sure what I'd change.

Maybe:
Panzo in for Rose
Burroughs in for Dabo
Palmer in for Allen

McFadz only stays in cause we have nobody else to replace him.

I think we start the back 5 that we finished the game with.
There is an argument to start Palmer over Allen in that AM role - even if he only lasts 60 mins you then have either Waghorn or Allen to bring on.
I am tempted to leave Godden and Gyokeres up front still, I think whatever the ‘issue’ was the little bit of needle between them might be worth harnessing.

It also feels like there is friction between a attack that feels it’s doing it’s job, and a defence they feel isn’t doing theirs.

Far too narrow IMO and the defenders aren’t good enough for it. Also Kelly is injured and gash.

Only way I can see four at the back working is a 433 or 4231 that pushes our forwards like Gyok wide.

Crazy idea I know, but I’d play our marquee summer signing.

He was our only summer signing

The performances have been better than our results suggest. Apart from Norwich.

I wouldnt change it. Rose really isnt a miss squad player at best.

We do need another central defender in. Bidwell can cover one left sided slot and if we are really desperate Rose gets a shout.

The box works better with 3Cbs and wing backs.

I've only seen the Preston game so far this season but it didn't change my opinion from last season that Godden and Gyokeres are not a good pairing.

Why will he?

Putting his appalling injury record aside, he's hardly a Championship-quality player even when fit.
In a side that is struggling defensively he is very useful. provides a screen in front of the defence and often makes crucial interceptions and even winning headers from crosses. He is good enough for a bottom 6 championship club

If we are relying on Kelly god help us

Kelly needs to be match fit to be any good and as I have said before by the time he gets up to speed he has another long term injury although even when he's trying to get fit he is still better than Allen on his latest showings who is still like a puppy trying to chase a football

Harsh. He played a crucial role at the end of our first season back in the Championship, along with Marty James in keeping us up. He missed most of last season, but made Godden’s goal against Bristol City with a sublime pass. He was also excellent against Stoke in the last game of the season.
I know his injury record is shite, but if we can keep him fit until the end of the season, he’ll be a real asset. Otherwise if Sheaf or Hamer are injured we have Eccles or Howley.

GK - F*ck knows
RB - Kane if fit
CB - Doyle
CB - Panzo
LB - Bidwell
DM - Sheaf
DM - Hamer
AM - Palmer
RW - Waghorn
CF - Godden
LW - Vik

Waghorn and Vik cutting in on their strongest feet. Godden for through balls from Palmer and crosses. Reckon it could work. Defence still scares me.
