Need a new one in in the summer, if we sell O’Hare/Gyok in Jan I’d look then otherwise wait until summer.

Wilsons done OK, for now he can keep the shirt considering the form Moore was in to lose it.

People are meant to grow up over time, or at least be more knowledgeable. Congrats on doing neither.

By saying look for a new keeper with both Moore & Wilsons wage at the end of the season and give one of our three young prospects the spot on the bench? Okkkk mate

Simon Moore's drop in form and confidence this season has been pretty extreme. Hopefully can be improved again.
For much of last year, he looked like the best goalkeeper we've had for a long time

Dare I say it, I'm not too worried about wilson at the moment. His kicking was poor like night, one of them he hoofed it 400 foot in the air and it only went about 80 yards forward, nearly put us in the shit.

As long as he keeps catching crosses and doesn't come flying out karate kicking someone, he can stay there. Moore is the better keeper but Moore is the reason we were on 1 point out of 9 instead of 9, in my opinion
So it went 2/3 of the pitch then given a pitch is normally 115 yards long.

I think it's one of those that we all probably think very similar, but whichever side you take is going to sound maybe a little over the top. Making him sound too good for some, and too shit for others. He hasn't done anything wrong that has cost us a goal in the games he's played, but in plenty of those games he has made mistakes that should have cost a goal... if he hadn't got so lucky with the kick at Luton we would be having a very different conversation. There was a game at Burton a few years ago where Burge was absolutely horrendous and made about 5 errors that could have cost a goal, but because none were converted, he was largely seen to have an OK game. Wilson often reminds me of that.

At the same time, he has made a few saves and he can only keep out what's thrown (kicked, but doesn't sound right) at him. That said, the Bristol save was pretty much straight at him and I thought the Blues save (which I only caught after the game as I was away, so it's hard for me to know the importance at the time) was overhyped somewhat. If it had gone in, we would have been saying poor keeping. Our defence has been pretty solid which has limited opposition opportunities, but he has handled a few awkward powerful shots down his throat well.

For what it's worth, I think Moore is much the better keeper but also cede he had to be dropped given how poor his form was. Wilson being in goal doesn't fill me with any confidence (not saying Moore would at the moment). His distribution is poor and he flaps at crosses badly, but its his shirt to keep until he at least makes a notable error. I just feel it's cutting of our nose to spite our face a little. I am with Shhhmeeee (never know how to spell it) in that, with how Moore has been dropped, I see us signing a new keeper next summer.

I think most of us accept that Moore is probably the better keeper overall, but we are in a position where his confidence was shot, whereas Wilson's is likely to be pretty high at the moment. I'm not sure how Moore gets that confidence back given he doesn't play in any back up games but I would always rather go with a confident keeper than a nervy one, as a keeper's nervousness inevitably then spreads to the defenders in front of them.

A second choice keeper only gets his chance through injury, suspension, or really bad form. As of yet he’s made mistakes but not been punished for them like Moore was.

In the summer we’ll need a new keeper along with new players in basically every position

Looks like an accident waiting to happen, but at the minute he is getting away with it.

Like last night with the one that almost looped over his head after it bounced in front of him.

I like that he comes for crosses and is less stuck to his line, he is also a great shot stopper, but his distribution is weak.

I would be looking at selling/releasing Moore in the summer (Not because I think he is any worse, but because I imagine his wage will be considerably higher than Wilson) and finding a long term solution. Wilson can stay on and fight with the new option.
Wilson will be out of contract, I’d be surprised if we offered him a new one.

Wilson is not a good goalkeeper. He has been lucky the last few games.
We all know his luck will run out one of these games.
Hope it’s not today.

Past evidence suggests that Robins isn’t afraid to let those kinds of players leave.

I think he has the Mowbray view on keepers. They stop shots and that’s it. Wilson I think has played about 75% of his career games here and robins seems to like him

Agree with this completely. What’s potentially overlooked is that Wilson was, in my opinion, very lucky not to be sent off in his first game replacing Moore (Preston?) which would have seen it all come crashing down very quickly.
