Not been any pictures of him training with the group, so suspect not. The video the other week had him dribbling, striking the ball probably next, then full contact. Couple of weeks, fingers crossed.

I saw someone mention that Sheaf is winning more duels per 90 this season than last. Got me wondering why he isn't being as highly praised by us compared to the sentiment for him last season?

Potentially that he doesn't have Gus next to him meaning he's having to play more progressive balls whereas normally he can offload it to Gus who can carry it and play those balls? Meaning he's losing the ball more? Would like to see some stats around he's passing this year compared to last.

I think you are referencing my comment on Sheaf with duels/tackles. Per 90, he's attempting slightly fewer passes (52.4 v 57.5), at a slightly lower accuracy (79% to 83%). He is making slightly more passes in the attacking half (25 to 24) and playing more progressive passes (as a % of total passes) which might explain somewhat why he might be deemed to be giving the ball away more (that said it is by a fairly immaterial amount).

Very rough but passing accuracy down 3 percentage points 83% > 80% and number of passed down slightly 57 > 50. Haven’t got progressive pass info, maybe @Frostie?

It's only a very slight change in stats to be fair, barely noticeable.

Hope you're right but i think we had quite a big walkup last weekend as it was payday for most. I don't think that will happen tomorrow due to the price being £33. I imagine Burnley will bring the same amount of numbers as Boro? Not seen any figures around yet. It would be great to hit 20K+ but i reckon 18K mainly due to the price.

I think with Sheaf, rather than giving it away more or less, it's the last couple of games where he's given the ball away unnecessarily or in dangerous areas again which understandably sticks in people's minds.

It isn't so much the category as the price for that category. Albion was Cat A, and 24 hours before the game they had only sold 2700, many saying they were boycotting because of the price. The rearranged game will still be £34 (£1 compulsory booking fee) and being midweek I doubt WBA will bring more than 2K.

I don't like the category system full stop, but add to that the Cat A prices make our ground the most expensive in the league, I really can't blame home and away fans for giving it a swerve.

i see Charlton have announced a reduction in match-day prices. Won’t be surprised other teams follow including us. £33 for championship football is not going entice walk ups especially in the current climate
