No, at the moment I’d genuinely be surprised if we stay up.

You can still get around 4/1 for us to go down.

I feel the problem today was that apart from Palmer on a couple of occasions we had no one trying to play progressive passes, and Burnley had complete control over Gyokeres.

We are too predictable at the moment and if the long ball to Gyokeres isn't working we are highly unlikely to score. All this shows just how important Hamer and O'Hare are. Yes they make mistakes and give the ball away sometimes, but they also make things happen in a way that players like Allen never will be able to do so. I think we really are seeing why O'Hare was not a burden in the team.

Disappointed with Bidwell going forward today. I am a big fan of his but today he didn't show enough ambition.

Wouldn't say a good run of games exactly, hopefully I'm wrong
This division is very equal and just as open for a number of clubs to do a “Forest”. We are not playing that bad and certainly not division “whipping boys” before the Middlesbrough game we had eight out of twelve home games coming up I said we need to win five of them and felt Burnley wouldn’t be one, get O’Hare & Hamer back and up to speed I’m sure we’ll be fine

Rotherham haven’t won since their manager left so if we can’t beat them at home it’s time to prepare for the worst

most people seem very ok with the team and no one seems overly concerned at 1 win in 10

Many reasons cited and no concern at all about potential relegation

Am I the only one to be somewhat concerned?

How many years running now have you started the MR Out narrative?

By the nature of football at some point you’ll be right.

But for me now isn’t the time.

This isn’t a Robins issue, the owners won’t back him, there’s only so much any management team can do. Unfortunately the owners want us in the more affordable 3rd tier. The current squad just isn’t up to Championship standard.

Its not a MR out - the titles a joke

its a statement as to where we are and the situation which has been deteriorating for the whole of 2022

unless he hops off he’s going nowhere

That’s strange, not many were predicting relegation before the season started?

Many were predicting a win yesterday. When o hare and hamer are playing we have the best midfield in the league

The squad is very poor for the level but has 3/4 exceptional players in that dragged us through several games last season. If you take 2 of the 4 out for the majority, you end up with the last 10 games.

The problem is because of poor striker decisions in the past Vik is an exception as with McNulty and initially Godden, we are continuously struggling for goals, the midfield in general are not helping in this department as with the defenders, so all round lack of goals is definitely costing us.
Last season was the same and the season before etc etc so on.
The times we have been on top in a game and if we are lucky we have scored one but don't appear to have the nous or composure to extend our lead so eventually the opposition get bored of defending trot up the pitch for their first chance and bag a goal ...rinse and repeat but we are treading water at best because our owners have no fucking interest in the success of this club....If they had shown as much interest as they did feathering the dipshit solicitors/barristers pockets maybe we would have an half decent club here once again

Tbf maybe it is a Robins issue.

I'm not advocating a change i love him, but he's persisting with a formation thats not worked for 9 months and seems reticent to change it ever.

Thats not good enough if we're honest

Our midfield consists of a ball boy, someone who is not yet fit and Sheaf who is trying to cover everywhere without much help, yesterday it consisted of errrr fuck all, Eccles came on and a gust of wind blew him off course, Tavares had 1 decent touch and the rest he was juggling trying to get it under control and stood in the way of that gust

I agree that if O'hare came back we'd look a lot better and hould get out of trouble.

But that shows how reliant we are and we've no idea when he'll be back. Could be we barely get him for any games before he's sold in January. We're also putting a lot of faith in him not have a recurrence or another problem brought about by the injury. Even them you'd imagine opposition teams will be looking to aggravate it whenever they get the chance.

So it's putting a lot of faith in quite a few things not going wrong.

To me it’s a tactical thing as well as a lack of quality. Last year the wing backs were the attacking outlet. This year they seldomly venture forward in the first half. It’s like they are playing with the handbrake on. Dabo caused all sorts of problems in the second half.

As good as Bidwell has been this year he's a different player to Maatsen. I think Adaramola was signed to be this years Maatsen equivalent - someone with real pace for that left flank - but obviously that didn't work out.

This is not a criticism of Bidwell by the way, he's been arguably our best player so far this season.

Im sure most are concerned but will probably reserve judgement until we’ve caught up our games/at World Cup break.

Robins got it wrong tactically yesterday. Should’ve matched them in midfield and played just Vik up top from the start. Having said that, most teams would struggle having their two most creative players out for a majority of the season so far. We’re just not quite getting the rub of the green either, the possible hand ball/bar Tuesday and bar again yesterday. That’s not even getting into the pitch shambles which basically fucked us (if we had played Rotherham, Wigan and Baggies I’m pretty sure we’d have a few more points on the board)

I still see enough in the team to get us out of trouble if we keep our heads, however, the next few weeks will be a physical and mental battle. Support like the second half yesterday will help

Agreed. Robins is on the defensive. I guess it's hard to blame him being bottom of the table.

It's also hard to play on the front foot without two or your most gifted players in midfield.

I'm glad Robins had a go of it with the subs yesterday. We clearly looked more threatening and I hope he does it more often. Had he done the same at Bristol, I think we'd have got a goal.

To be honest I feel as if the whole pitch saga and 'catching up games' is providing a bit of a dependable hope and distraction.

If we had played two more games (even if we would have won them) we would still be right down in the bottom. I genuinely think more people would be paying attention to the alarm bells kicking off.

That isn't a go at you by the way. We all want the team to do well and seek solace in as much comfort as we can. However, the team at the moment just reminds me of the year we got promoted. Competing in games but being sloppy at either end in most cases. We need to sort it out otherwise we'll end up going down.

We may have also played and won two home games after the draw at Sunderland and gained momentum had they not been cancelled. We are playing catch-up all season and it puts pressure on.

Similarly, if we had lost against Forest at the first game of last season, things may have been a lot different.

I get your point but my argument is that if we'd won those two games as you say then we'd have been in better form with better morale (plus better match fitness as other teams were playing games while we were barely playing at all) and that the following results would probably have been better as a result.

It's not just the points from the postponed games we're missing, it's the consequences of the disruption they caused.

I think it’s been a combination of factors. Even said to a mate it feels like maybe it’s just not our season. Ohare injury before we kick a ball, pitch, throwing game away at Millwall, hamer two reds in first 6-7 games etc etc. you couldn’t make it up really

Fact is we’ve just got to deal with it now, however, I’ve seen enough in recent games to suggest we can get out it. Let’s see where we are at the break though

The postponement of the Rotherham game and to an extent the Wigan game may not be bad. In Rotherham’s case they started the season well. Lost the manager and it’s now a decline. Not as bad for Wigan but they did start well. We may have o hare back as well so those postponements might end up a positive

I'm concerned. This first half of the season is now going to require a strong mental approach from the players, as I hope we start to secure positive results. The issue with being rooted to the bottom of the table could start to affect the players confidence. The pitch issue, poor resourcing of the club, Hamer lack of self control, O'Hare injury, etc are all factors, but reflect the weak infrastructure at CCFC in comparison to other clubs.

The next few games will be extremely tough, Cardiff are better than last season, Sheff Utd will want revenge for last season and Stoke are improving. We are fortunate to be playing Rotherham and Wigan later than scheduled, so expect a win for us.

If we can climb out of the bottom 3 by the World Cup, then there is an opportunity for a re-set. I just hope that in January SISU don't decide to cash in on O'Hare & Gykores for their investors and ensure our relegation.

Is there any chance of a new owner before January? I worry if SISU are still here.

I agree, but my worry is how much gets reinvested when we sell?
I've said it before, I think we'll be ok this year but without significant investment in the squad think we'll be in real trouble soon enough.

I expect us to be back in L1 within 2 seasons.

I think if we can just get through this season intact a rebuild can happen. Lots of players to let go at the end of expensive contracts, a few big fees to bring in and there's a fair bit for someone to work with.
