Seen that people are starting to ask questions about how, or if, the Champsionsip will be able to accomatde Wasps and Worcester next season.

Seems it may not be a foregone conclusion that if either team can survive in some form they will be given a place. Not sure Championship sides who were locked out of the Premiership when they voted against promotion and relegation, will feel particularly inclined to help.

Great point. I guess the 'rugby family' might agree that it's in the best interests to get them in and they might draw in bigger crowds for those two games. Maybe.

I'll try and speak to my contacts at Cornish Pirates this week and see what they say.

Gilbert says that unclear whether ACL/ACL 2006 will be going into admin. If they dont then labour group will be asked to vote on a loan to prop up the stadium business for now - they will say this is to allow Cov and other events to still take place.

Not sure what happens if ACL does go into admin - would the stadium then be in control of the admins?

A loan to whom? You can't loan a known to be insolvent company money.

Surely you can't give them money?

Surely any administrators would want CCFC to keep playing to fill the coffers for paying off debts?

Surely there should be legal/criminal proceedings against Wasps board members if they've continued taking money to spend on a failing business? Is it not classed as fraud?

Also, why? Don’t lend the money and they go bust and the council get the lease back and if they want can keep it running, or can leave that to the administrator surely? They’re certainly not going to see the cash again anyway.

I assume there is no money to actually run it so the administrator could lock the gates.

The council would get back the reduced lease and then manage ACL which it hardly wants to do either.

I think it is just the holding company for the head-lease and a few other stuff, so it can't be moved anywhere.

Wrong terminology, a loan would suggest a repayment of such.
More likely that CCC or CCFC take on the cost of putting the game on, CCFC should be footing the bill as they can claim that the landlord has broken the terms of the rental agreement, and therefore ccfc could foot the bill and withhold the sum from any rent due. (And then tell wasps or ACL, to go fuck themselves)

just not comfortable lending more money to a company that’s shown it’s incapable of managing itself TBH. Though we’ve got six home games in four weeks and the last thing we need is another postponement…

From what I can remember, and I am sure people will correct me if I am wrong, ACL and WHL are the guarantors of whatever is meant to be guaranteed but ACL (2006) or whatever it is called isn't.

Leads to a bit of an issue if the people who are in control of ACL (2006) put it into administration.

I made duggins explicitly say no financial help to wasps or related companies....
I've also had one of my other councillors come back and belatedly say the same thing. Now, some of them may be lying, but I'm pretty sure enough of them are aware that saying no financial support, followed by financial support would be a suicide note really!

ACL didn't file intention of administration until about a week or so later, so assume they won't enter admin today.

I just emailed one I got a response from on Friday saying:

Thank you for your response Cllr.

Can you also please confirm that no help will be for Wasps related companies, such as ACL, at the meeting scheduled for this evening?

As I'm sure you're aware they are also under the umbrella of Wasps companies and as such would be a similarly poor use of public funds, I do not believe the council should be responsible for funding failing private enterprises.

and received the following:

'Dear George,

Please could you offer [dirty forum tramp] the reassurances he requests? Obviously the ability to confirm this sits with you, rather than me.

George being Duggins who they have looped in.

To me that reads as if they are being asked to support ACL by Labour group leadership and are trying to show there is pressure to not proceed.

A loan, because that will be paid back :ROFLMAO: Anyway can't possibly true as Duggins was very quick to reply to any emails last week saying this definitely wouldn't happen.

If the council are taking over the running of the arena then surely the lease has to revert back to them?
