The council could give acl a "helping hand".
Would have happened already by all accounts if it hadn't have been leaked/opposed on social media and e.mails (See Gilbert's tweets tonight)... I'll see if I can paste below;

Who out that email up where the councillor had basically forwarded it to Duggins and said “not my monkey, not my circus”?

Reading between the lines suggests leadership were approached, didn’t immediately tell ACL to fuck off, set the meeting up then saw that literally no one would swallow it.

Or they go to leagues outside England

I doubt that will be an option for the majority. Maybe for the International players. But most of them aren't at Worcester and Wasps. Remember there are a lot of youngsters just starting out in their careers.

The council will want a bidding war. SISU will not. They will play hard ball and I would not be shocked to see them do one of two things in private negotiations.

1. Make it clear to whoever wants to buy the stadium (if it's not them) that there will be no anchor tennent.
2. Tell the interested party if they want to buy the stadium and retain CCFC playing there they will need to buy into the club at an inflated figure.

SISU could sell the whole club but would want top dollar and I think they would rather a partnership as they like the rest of the bidders know the real money will be achieved when CCFC are a premiership club.

Very interesting times and SISU hold a lot if cards now.

Ann Lucas and her cronies cuddled up to wasps and sanctioned an infestation of the city's best sporting infrastructure. Those not in denial could see the project was just not going to work and we are virtually back to square one with the stadium situation!!

What is fruststing is that its the bond holders who were sold a dream that have lost most while the corporate cowboys behind the scenes swan off to another desk job.
Surely now is the time to unite the stadium and club, if it doesn't happen what is the point of it all.

Is this purely because they end up looking like idiots if it all goes tits up? Too late for that isn't it, Wasps going pop did that.

Not seeing the benefit to risking taxpayers money. One of the alleged big selling points of the Wasps deal was that the taxpayer was no longer involved. What do the council gain from this?

Can’t recall the reasons “we” all hated Gilbert (I can’t personally remember feeling that strongly towards him).

But regardless he’s done an excellent job thus far. An axe to grind himself perhaps.

People on here hate everyone. He's always worked hard to get answers and keep Cov in Coventry. Shame the rest of the journalists are so poor in Coventry.

Not sure... bit lost in all of the intricacies of the "Wasps" business, but it would keep this "arm" of it going wouldnt it??...I think??.... not sure why?.... not sure if they think they could still have them about in the Rugby Championship?......

Still a bit fishy... someone mentioned they may have some bonds??...

It’s on this thread but the thread is fucking massive and I’ve no idea where. @Liquid Gold was it you? If so was it a Labour or story councillor?
This was the piece. I don’t know who posted it

Just had a nice chat with a friend of mine

Works for the council

Can now also say he's Gilberts leak so line up to buy him a pint

From Duggins directly (of course i cannot share on here) wasps are dead. Kaput. Gone. Will no longer be a club let alone in Coventry

There will be a vote on funding ACL in the time being, this is to ensure our games still go ahead, as the stadium at the mo literally hasnt a pot to piss in and contrary to media reports there is NO credible buyer for the stadium

Sisu are being 'strangely quiet' and council and sisu relations are nowhere near as frosty as they were.

The NEC are the only interested party at the mo, have lost 8.5 million in revenue to the CBS and is a case of cant beat them join them however they would not give 2 hoots about CCFC and is the worst possible thing that can happen

Will keep you all posted

Stephen Vaughan - “We're going to look at what life in the Championship would be like, we're going to see if there is still the appetite”

Going to assume he’s talking about his back pocket here.
If he’s been made redundant, why is this fucker doing a presser?

Wasps back but in the Championship next season? If they do that down south, where they belong, then good luck to them.

I've got every sympathy for their original fans, and their current players and coaches, who are now in a shit position. But I never, ever, want to see them in this city again unless it's playing Cov RFC as the away team.

Quite a stunning interview. Amazingly niave to say the least.

Anyone else think SISU are hoping ACL go in to admin so they can bid peanuts for the CBS as they can’t afford it otherwise?
they could afford to pay for it a hundred times over, but they'll want it for the cheapest possible price
