Hypothetical changes to the CBS (6 Viewers)

What changes do you think should be made if we became owners of the arena?

Don’t think we will, so purely hypothetical.

I’d want the scoreboard moving as I think it looks shit. I’d potentially want something like Leicester and Southampton have, a scoreboard above the stand at each end.

If want a decent shop put in, not the shitty one we have now. Looks like something a league 2 club would have.

Away fans put in the corner?

Just general TLC really. Those penniless parasites let it get run down as fuck.

A lot of grounds now are very much about the club and it’s history. We sat in a home area at WBA last season. Their concourse is much more pleasant than the one at the CBS which is a bit industrial. It is festooned with Albion pictures and memorabilia. I also like the way that clubs like Brighton and West Brom again, have huge pictures of past players or emblems on the outside of their stadium.
I seem to remember the council kicking up a stink when Paul Fletcher had the club badge removed from Highfield Road and put on the Ricoh without planning permission. He wanted the stadium to at least say we played there. Hopefully owning it or having a longer lease would mean we could have a lot more done to it to make it ‘our’ stadium.

But we'll take a massive Sports Direct logo if we must.

Couple of the bars in there could do with a rebrand. That shitty clubhouse, unless that's already gone in a past refurb, and the Anecdote could do with a rebrand, if not something related to the football club than at least something related to the city.

Move back into the main changing rooms and a general clean up and more CCFC branding around the place.

Why does the Anecdote need a rebrand? It's barely a year old!

I would build a structure at the back of the east stand that could be used as a fan zone with bars, food outlets, tv's etc.

Key to getting things to work is making more revenue out of the place and to do that you tempt people to come earlier and stay later.

Leicester have plans for something very similar. They are extending the stadium to install a fan village in one of the car parks.

Removable pitch please.

Also some kind of sun blocker installed so I don’t have to watch games like a sea captain.

Exactly this. Home fans should never have to look into the sun - it kills atmosphere and hands huge advantage to away support. The current set up is all wrong.

Depending how much money someone wants to spend I'd be putting bars on restaurants on that bit of land between the shopping centre and ground and a massive footbridge to connect the two.

If you were going all in then you'd look at buying up the industrial land to the north for things like a cinema, bowling alley etc. Basically things that will give people a reason to go there. At the moment unless you're going to an event why on earth would you go.

But that level of investment would probably need someone like AEG involved.

The Anecdote could do with having staff who actually want to work and realise there is a need to extricate ones finger when a crowd appears at the bar at HT.

Better food and drink options in the concourse. I'm not sure who is responsible for this though.
Also fixing the mental queues at half time, but this seems to be a problem for all big events rather than just the CBS

It's always been back to front that. The south stand should always have been for the home fans. Actually closer to the city centre to start off with. Plus, the sun has always shone in the same direction on Saturday afternoons, at least since I was young. 🙂 Poor planning!

If they installed TV's into concourses and showed earlier kick offs, perhaps gain more beer spending. Maybe wasps couldn't afford the sky bill? Comfier, more welcoming concourse would get people in earlier too.

I hadn't realised just how big that bit of land is until you said and I had a look on Google maps, could definitely fit a plaza on it. Imagine having that and a fully functioning trainline that stopped right outside...

I'm sure they used to have live games on in the concourse in the past.

Maybe Sky/BT is too expensive.

Anecdote def needs rebranding to something historical CCFC…. With CCFC Stuff in there.

Love the connect the retail park with the ground idea

Fanzine def needed… love the small bar set ups outside… but needs to be bigger and much more home fan orientated

Maintenance to fix it up. Removal of all Wasps references. Away fans moved to the corner. Another scoreboard in the north stand
thinking about it I'm not sure ACL own the scoreboard. seem to recall its on some sort of deal where the company who supplied it get the advertising revenue. if that's the case then could they not put another one in at the other end on a similar deal?
