If SISU do absolutely nothing it will make no sense whatsoever, this is what they've been waiting for. Also refuse to believe any sane thinking owner would want the insects back in the CBS. Believe lads, whatever happens it will be better.

Their actions up to now haven't made a lot of sense.

Hypothetical question

Say we get shafted and stay as tenants with sisu in control

Could you carry on? Because tbh i would find it very very difficult dragging myself up there knowing we were going to be constantly skint, never a cat in hells chance of making the prem and knowing we will never ever get rid of them bastards who control us

Carry on. I've got a season ticket with us as tenants and sisu in charge so I can't see why nothing happening would send me over the edge.

No, true.. but if they cash in for a decent amount now then maybe some of those bizarre decisions start to make a little more sense.

Do people only go if they think we will get to the prem one day?

Not much evidence for that
- Ashley just tried to buy Derby, who were then bought
- Sunderland were taken over by a billionaire last season
- Birmingham just been bought out despite financial issues and a falling down stadium, had 3 parties bidding
- Sheff Utd recently bought by us owners
- Hull bought by Turkish owners recently

id suggest that’s plenty of evidence

I'm trying to find the words to explain it better

We will never compete for top 6 in this league with SISU. We will probably become a yoyo L1 Championship side like Rotherham and Peterborough

Is that something you can sensibly say to yourself 'Yea that's worth it', in a time where our money doesn't go far and other things become so expensive.

same as others on here, this is the chance to finally unite the stadium with the club either under SISU or new owners for both.

IF we remain in the same position as we are now, after what SISU have waited out for for years has finally happened, what is the point?

If I wanted to support a team for guaranteed success I'd just switch between Man City or whoever is winning that year.

What about if we were a yoyo championship / Prem club like Fulham or Norwich with no chance of ever getting into Europe? Would people stop going then?

I get what he’s saying, he’s not asking for success. It’s the fact SISU Put a ceiling on us we know is there.

if they go we can aspire to better no matter how impossible

About the only aspect of that that has even a remote chance of happening is rebranding the netball team.
We could even save some money by keeping the same kit for them and just rename them as the Coventry Bees Netball team, at least they have links to a Coventry team, and it would sting wasps even more.

That's what I mean, Norwich and Fulham also have the ceiling of being a yoyo Prem team. Would it be the same then?

Further to my earlier response, just checked agenda and papers for the October meeting. The Richardson loan application for £12.5m loan for a hotel is no longer on the relevant dashboard. So - application withdrawn or fell by the wayside.

Thats only the financing application

They don’t have a ceiling - they can aspire to be the next Leicester. With SISU the issue is that they’ve told us for years “our model won’t work in the championship”

we know Norwich and Fulham won’t likely be the next Leicester but at least there’s always that hope.

I don't necessarily go along with it, but i understand his point

They do have the ceiling though?

It's no different to Rotherham just the league above.

You’re missing the point, 99% of seasons they will yo-yo, there’s that 1% chance they can do a Leicester. Their fans hang on to that hope.

with SISU our Owners have literally shut us down and told us - “that’s your lot and be happy with it, we cant afford to be here anyway”

theres No hope of progression, whereas Fulham and Norwich fans have that hope that one season they might win something serious

I think the point is SISU’s end game, people want ambition, nobody is expecting Europe or PL titles but a little bit of investment, stability and ambition. SISU have actively said the Championship isn’t affordable to us/them so behind the scenes there’s more of an apatite to be relegated more than anything. This isn’t a L1 club. So what are they waiting for? Some sort of weird fluke premier league promotion? Dribble us a long for a bigger tax purpose?

That's the thing, have they said that or is that fans saying it?

There has been spells when we looked like we could get in the Championship Playoffs. I don't think it's going to happen but not ruling it out.

I am sure the Norwich and Fulham fans say the same thing about being yo-yo clubs and wanting more.

But this isn’t through the support of a ambitious owners.. Thats through absolute fluke from MR, AV and recruitment. You always have the feeling we’re only a couple of seasons away from potentially being back with the squad that won the FL trophy.

Fisher openly said it a few years back. Our model doesn't work in the championship

Also since promotion I'm pretty sure they've shown that's the case

Sheaf - 750K
Gyok- £1M
Hamer- £1.2m
Walker - £1M

£4 Million spent in 3 seasons of Championship football

In that time selling

Hyam -£1.5m
Shipley -Nominal probably around £100k

Spending £2.4 Million in 3 seasons of championship football, when we've all backed the club with ST's record merchandise etc shows that this is financially it. Nothing else

Planning permission can remain intact of a period of years, domestically I think you have to start something within 3 years. Will building start with no finance - I suspect not. There was also the press coverage about Wasps not having paid the lease money for the site, as it wasn’t going to proceed. It was a bit bizarre that wasps were going to pay for the lease but Richardson doing the building, unless taken as more evidence that the move to Coventry was less about the rugby and more about enrichment of individuals through property development.

so - another failed project

So why aren't Fulham and Norwich owners ambitious and ploughing big money in to get them to the higher ceiling?

Fisher said it at one of those meetings. Part of me thinks that league one promotion wasn’t part of the plan. Costs have gone up massively

There will also have been a little something from Wilson’s sale to Newcastle

And we can aspire to win promotion as Blackpool did.
