Who do you drop for him? He’s not an AM in a million years, makes O’Hare look prolific. No height, no real quality on the ball, not particularly great at winning the ball back and no physicality.

I think I would prefer palmer In the team , and o hare , I don't drop anybody , but there is a reason Robins keeps picking him even when he doesn't have too .

Results good but one thing that needs changing is Allen, he is awful he ruins every piece of play we try, KP should be starting ahead of him and ohare ahead of them both when fully fit. Once Allen becomes 3rd choice and hamer gets in for Eccles I think team will tick over very well.
(Nothing against Eccles just Kane and dabo better righ backs and sheaf and hamer better holding midfielders)
I wouldn't be changing Eccles in centre mid for the moment. Two games in that position and two wins and two clean sheets. He can win headers which is a bonus and has a bit of everything. Deserves to keep the shirt.

We do look terribly ineffective with him and sheaf together though in the middle

Fucking dreadful game, other than the defence we were really poor but will take that.

Sheffield United fans are awful losers aren't they, what a really odd bunch of supporters

Doesn't that come from the link up play Allen is supposed to provide?

Hard to link play when they keep playing it backwards , which Eccles did non stop

Play it safe fair enough but it was quite frustrating to watch

We won , so it's hard to moan too much

I think Eccles is still finding his feet a bit & to a degree is probably playing within himself. It's completely understandable as a young player, particularly when every time it looked like he's about to stake a claim previously he then got injured.

Ultimately he just needs to believe in himself more which should come in time. He's a very talented boy who could really do well for himself & us. A run of games like these last 2 where he's playing well is just what he needs.

I think Robins is in a mindset where dull discipline outranks quality. I hope once we’ve climbed the league a bit and had some time over the WC for R&R, we go back to a more fluent style TBH.

You would take a gritty 1-0 win over a high scoring loss any day of the week. After some horrendous luck in August we are getting some strokes of fortune of late but I think you’d need to be a miserable bastard to say we haven’t earned them.

Continue keeping clean sheets, we won’t stay in that bottom 3 for long.

Plus Dabo’s yellow was a revenge tackle that wouldn’t have happened if he just sent the guy off.
The main thing that pissed me off about that challenge (apart from it not getting the obvious red) is Heckingbottom shouting at Dabo to get up. Their manager… embarrassing

Also said in his post match interview it was a great tackle

It’s all about opinions but I thought Eccles was awful tonight. He either gave the ball away or stopped the forward momentum by passing backwards. He also bottled out of a lot of 50/50 balls.

Two and a half hours on from FT, and still absolutely delighted with the result.

Really do feel like the corner is being well and truly turned.

And with COH to return, players improving their match sharpness and confidence growing, things can only go one way.

That's how I'm seeing it too.

We were in disarray really. Bad summer window, games cancelled, the team not fluid and all our opponents more cohesive because they had played more football.

MR used the international break just to go back to basics, instil some discipline and go to being hard to break down knowing that with Gyo we always have a threat up top.

It's worked well and if we're looking comfortable out of the relegation zone for the WC break then I'm sure he'll work on making us more expansive.

No just by the main island by the main entrance 20/30 having a go

As mentioned by myself earlier in the thread, that lot have always had a massive chip on their shoulder especially when it comes to us

They’re still upset at some blokes running on the pitch in a game they won anyway a whole 5 years ago next month

Odd bunch who seem to hate us, whereas Wednesday fans have always seemed a lot more down to earth and less arsey whenever we have come across them

The Sheffield star newspaper has given tonight’s referee 9/10 performance.

Comment was …

“Tonight’s referee showed a masterclass of a performance in the heart of the blades midfield but despite setting up countless corners and free kicks along with needless bookings the blades were unable to find a way through.”
He was interviewed last night as he was getting on the Sheff United team bus and asked if he had been biased and he said "no"

100%, they must still be seething after one of their oaf’s breached the sterile area in the south stand a few years back to get ko’d by a sky blues fan half his size. Properly had his clock cleaned.

A great (albeit undeserved) 3 points. Never realised the point in Sheffield United. Small team that had some mild success about 100 years ago. They’ve always been in Wednesday’s shadow and it must kill them.
