BBC reporting he has hit 100. If he goes for it he’s back. Unbelievable.Support for Johnson is waning, looks like it'll be little Rishi.
Best result for the country I guess, though I would've enjoyed seeing Johnson getting utterly annihilated at an election.

Yeah they rowed it back after. Looks like it’s as you say, a ruse to try and get a few more votes over the line. Desperate move which makes me think it’s all over and Sunak takes it without the vote being needed.According to 'sources'. Actual backers is much lower. It's possibly a case of leaking that to try and create some momentum for people to jump on the bandwagon. Other Tory MPs say it's nonsense he has 100.
Nobody knows really
Obviously this won't apply across the board but it seems that in terms of social issues they're to the left but things like wealth are more important to them. But I guess when they've very little prospect of getting on the property ladder etc stuff like that will matter to them.Gen Z are more right-leaning than you might think - in this economy who can blame them?
We shouldn’t be shocked when young people like Molly-Mae Hague repeat Thatcherite ideasinews.co.uk
Part of me feels (or maybe hopes) that that would be the straw that broke the camels back and we'd actually start seeing movement - protests, civil disobedience etc. There seems to be a real push to get that cretin Johnson back in. If he does he will be ridiculous as he will think he is indestructible and just continue to do what he wants and take the piss out of the British public.
The reality show style of Boris' presentation would surely appeal to them as well.Obviously this won't apply across the board but it seems that in terms of social issues they're to the left but things like wealth are more important to them. Imagine if he comes back, gets found guilty of misleading parliament by the Privileges Committee and has to resign. We could have another leadership election before Christmas! Can Johnson actually make a return? It’s a disgrace that he’s even being considered - he really has no shame.
Boris lying? Surely not. Some suggestion tonight that Boris’ team are trying to bullshit there way to 100 votes by saying they’ve already got 100. The idea it builds momentum. Trouble is MP’s that would have been considered a given for Boris are lining up to to back Rishi Sunak. Obviously we won’t know until we know but Boris bullshitting for personal gain is bang on form.

Spot on. Read an article yesterday talking about this and how Truss (Johnson) supporters bluffed Truss to victory by overstating her support and popularity and that this is what’s going on with Johnson now. MPs/members just jump on the bandwagon. Embarrassing really if true, but wouldn’t surprise me
Not sure how Sunak will come across during an election campaign. I don't care that he has money (does he want to buy a football club?), but he does say things every now and again that are out of touch with the average working man. The non Dom and US stuff is an easy stick, too. It'll be the fastest way of getting a Labour government. Sunak will erode the current lead and generally steady the ship-the country in the short term needs Sunak, in the long term it probably bizarrely needs Boris
I’m not sure that people do think he cares about them. Just that he’s perceived as a ‘winner’ and someone who wont take any shitso will get us the best deal/won’t be bossed around etc etc etc.Sums the man up that he's been on holiday for 3 months, not bothering to serve his constituency, not bothering to turn up to parliament. As soon as there's a hint of power and personal gain he jumps on the plane.
He is interested in one thing and one thing only, himself. It's absurd that people genuinely think he has their interests at heart. Anyone who genuinely believes that is frankly fucking thick.

I'd have been (relatively!) comfortable with him as leader, but his desperate lurch to the right towards the end of the last contest to curry favour suggests he isn't that principled himself!
