Safe Standing (4 Viewers)

I was thinking about this today whilst avoiding working. With safe standing being introduced this year in the top two division, if the CBS was united with the football club, would anyone be interested in the North Stand being turned into an all standing area - such as you would find in Germany?

You'd think it would do wonders for the atmosphere in the North Stand.

Top half of singers corner 14 /15 /16 , would be great for safe standing

Possibly even 17

The thing about standing up at football is you eventually always want to sit down.

I’d like away fans moved into that corner and the singers section to take their place behind the goal. Sick of seeing them have an entire end for the opposition to shoot towards.

Never happen unfortunately.

To improve the North Stand, they need to get rid of the social distance block and open it up for pay on the gate. Possibly close the corner between the North and East stand.

If they could get a fan zone or new bar built or even a regular thing in the exhibition hall that would be perfect.

That end is just a bit far from the pre/post match stuff atm.

I'd like to see it behind a goal, even though I do think maybe the North stand should be for the away fans.

This would actually make sense, as no one has any reason to walk behind the North Stand unless they're going to the North Stand, so makes for easier segregation. Plus I could sit behind the goal without the sun in my eyes. Maybe I'll even start to see some action.

Apart from the hundreds/thousands of people who walk that way to the ground...

Yeah, obviously, apart from the thousands of people who can't be bothered to walk the long way round the exhibition hall. But I don't walk that way, so what other people do hardly bothers me.

Cardiff had safe standing , a barrier to lean on but the seats were still there
We paid to stand (same price as a seat) but we're told by the stewards to go anywhere then in the seated area they all stood anyhow
I have yet to be told to sit at any away ground , and I assume every away section is the same , can't recall any serious incidents because of standing

Standing would be a move backwards and I think lead to violence again. Would it increase capacity?

It baffles me how the issue of safe standing is treated as some sort of social experiment that might have dire consequences, when every week tens of thousands of football supporters stand on traditional terracing (think Peterborough, Exeter, Carlisle, Accrington and many others); while many more stand in the seated areas that are suggested as areas where 'safe' standing might be allowed - like it isn't perfectly safe already. It's all a bit odd really, this debate some have about reintroducing something that never went away.

Not sure changing where the away fans sit would improve your sex life.

move away fans round to 4,5,6,7, open 11,12,13 and all of 14,15 to home fans. Safe standing in the North Stand. Build a blockade sort of thing in the south stand and West stand to prevent any form of mingling of City and away fans. Maybe a fence outside as well to fence their dickheads off from ours. Remove the WASPS seats and replace with SD.COM or JIMMY HILL and have it as the Jimmy Hill stand

OK lets go back and ask ourselves why all seaters were introduced?
So Kevin, Can I ask you why safe standing which has been introduced to many stadiums around europe with no increase in violence would increase violence?
