Headline today

Coventry thugs stamped on scared football fan's face in brutal attack on train

The story is about a poor lad who got attacked on a train going from Manchester to Reading and was attacked by people who got off at Coventry (after attacking him they are hardly going to stick about are they?)

Completely misleading headline. Nothing at all to say they were from Coventry, we were at home to Blackpool that day .

I would think that attack is on camera a proper police force should soon clear that up.

If the train was going FROM Manchester to reading , who's to say they weren't Blackpool supporters on they're way to Coventry ?

It was 9.30 in the evening :)

There's absolutely nothing to say they are even football fans at all.

Violence on trains isn’t as rare as you think it was reported the other day of a couple of knuckle draggers not youngsters running up and down a carriage thumping anyone, they have been arrested and charged, bet they ain’t sent down though, I’d give them 5 years, plenty of time to reflect.

It says that Coventry thugs stamped on a football fans face? Which is what I said.

It's intended to make out it is coventry football violence with the headline.

Theres nothing to say they are from Coventry or even football fans.

Here we go.

Technically it doesn’t mention football fans but it can be construed as that.

No need to start charity bets.

Next thread

It does mention them being Coventry people ;)

Charity biscuit race it is then.

First glance of that headline suggests Cov fans are behind it, poorly worded at best.
Part of me thinks the poor wording is intentional to get clicks and get people angry.

It doesn't say the people that did it were football fans at all, and I'm sure they'd say that if pulled up on it, but they certainly set it out in a way that if not fully paying attention you can think it's related to football. If someone wants to believe it was related to football they most certainly can.
