I reckon 50 will be tight this year , thoughts

Was thinking the same. Looking at bottom 3 you’d think 52-55. Then again some teams will sink like a stone

Think this will be the first time in a long time that 50 isn’t enough. So pretty useful to be over half way there already.
Cant see Wigan getting anywhere near 50.

But the other 2 places...Hull, Huddersfield and Blackpool for me.

50 is about right for 3rd from bottom.

There's only 11 points between relegation and play offs - seems smaller than previous years (happy to be corrected by those with spreadsheets).

Could be a record number of points needed to stay up and a record low number of points to get into the play offs.

A real dog-fight of a division this year.

Table after 20 games , obviously we are 2 games in hand on this

we'd still be 12th with 26 points and we can go onto 32 points with 2 wins Screenshot_20221109-123333_Chrome.jpg

I think safety this year will be around 53 points

Play offs 66ish.

So so tight this league this season

Our points per game ratio is currently higher this season than it finished on last season. Which puts us on corse for 66 points this season. Long long way to go yet but given how tight the league is so far this season that might be enough for playoffs. One thing for sure. I can’t see 38 points being enough to stay up this season so 50 points needs to be a minimum.

forest last year 25 points from 20

We need around 46 points for play offs (1.64ppg) and around 25 to stay up (0.89ppg) from 28 games . We are currently on 1.44 ppg which would extrapolate to around 66 points and around 10th (11th based on last year)

we are 4 points behind where Barnsley finished last season

6 weeks ago we were bottom with 3 points in 7 games
in 6 weeks we have played 11 games and taken 23 points

lots of stats, but basically means we can still finish anywhere between top and bottom and more likely for me 8th - 16th

Can we maintain the current form? Difficult but if so then top 6 is a real possibility. If we become more inconsistent or certain players are injured/sold then mid table or bottom half.

Keep this group together and keep the players fit-that’s really the key for us.

It's inevitable that we'll have a blip of a few games where we lose games we expect to win and maybe go a few without winning.

The pleasing thing is that this season, MR has shown he's adaptable, using his subs more (and better) and we've pulled ourselves up the table after a blip...quite a big blip actually at the start of the season so when it happens, we just need to ride it out and trust in the mgt team and the players.

January is crucial though. If we keep hold of the big 3-4 and get in a couple of loans as cover, we could be alright. Too many unknowns for me at the moment to try and confidently say where we'll finish.

Heart says 'top 6', head says 'stop being a fu&king idiot - there's so much that can go wrong '!

I predicted 12th before the season began which is where we are now and where we ought to end up if everyone stays in January. If a few key players go and aren’t replaced I’d be quite happy to just stay in the division.
