Be mad to not offer him one more year - unless he suffers an injury. Not sure if the budget can take it, but he would be someone that would be good to have around the club when he hangs up his boots - defensive coach? Apparently he is a real joker and could be brilliant for experience/team spirit.

He’s a man mountain, somehow defying the age logic to become better year upon year. Eradicated his mistakes and has barely put a foot wrong this season. He’s such a huge help to those around him too, particularly the younger lads. Would be fully justified being rewarded with another year.

I was petrified at the thought of him not being present against Blackburn but it’s also testament to the other 3 cb’s and how they’ve been playing. The defensive record of late is nothing short of phenomenal.

Would still love to add another in the January, and have the 5 vying for 3 spots.

I think he was 25 by the time he started playing regular league football so maybe it's right that he's got:

  1. less comparative mileage than an average 35 year old centre back
  2. more room for post 30s improvement, he's actually got better and better
I would give him another year almost certainly.

Its amazing not just how many headers he wins but how many of them find a team mate
Reads the game so well. Hes so well positioned...love him! Hes cut out the mistakes (penalties) from 2 seasons ago when first in chsmpionship.

He's just such a unit.

Almost unrecognisable from that gangly error prone CB that started his career here. Just Mr consistent now, never does anything wrong and marshals those around him well.

Perfectly suited to the middle of a back three and definitely deserving of another year. Starting late means he has more mileage and his game isn't based on pace so he shouldn't slow as quickly.

Excellent centre half did we get him and Allen on a free?

I’d be surprised if he isn’t given another year extension

Jagielka is 40 and hasn't disgraced himself at the clay heads so I'd like to think our Fadz has got a few more good years in him in sky blue.

I guess it also depends who owns us , although I'd hope the club keep him in some capacity regardless

still haunted by the 4-0 away at Rotherham and was wondering what we were doing with him in our team
a bit like the Hyam performance in the 6-2 v yeovil

Since the Rotherham game he has improved season on season, and would love to see him at least in the squad next year in the premier league , albeit not sure he would get many minutes

Remember around the time of the Rotherham 4-0 defeat, he was finished and he was a liability etc.
The bloke has been immense.

Bristol Rovers away the season before as well. Embarrassing mistake when we tried playing a passing out from the back game. He’s had a small number of “stinkers”, but despite this has still probably been the most consistent player in the last 3 years. Probably the guy with the most 8/10s in the last 2 years.
Crucial goals against Forest, QPR as well as others.
Whatever happens next year, he’ll be remembered.

He's currently the best centre half in this division. I'm not even joking.
