It’s still more than possible that Ashley has done a confidential deal for the club on the proviso that he acquires ACL first.

There isn’t actually any noise coming out the club that the council has screwed SISU over again, it’s all come from people who like to portray themselves of being in the know and someone like Simon Gilbert isn’t going to know if the deal is wrapped up in confidentiality clauses.

You’re going to have a hard time convincing me that CCC has screwed SISU over and Tim Fisher has fuck all to say about it.

I think he has done an offer with SISU already and they are going through the motions so to speak.

Yeah, it's why on the rare occasion I do speak to people ITK, I tend to try and keep it to myself as much as possible. Sometimes can't resist sneaking out tidbits such as CCC offering a potential stadium site to SISU once upon a time, but most of the time I don't want to be their mouthpiece.

I remember the stick me, Nick and co. got for meeting Labovitch. There was a reason I didn't share what he said, and that was because most of it was absolute bollocks!
I couldn't really share as he was boring as fuck and I switched off the moment he started speaking. Watched a champions League game over his shoulder.

If they are now using byng though

Not saying they did blank them but I mean it's not that extreme to think that they might make it much harder for different people.

As said, I'm sure once it's sold they can say what they offered.
The key issue is they didn’t offer anything prior to the admin process. You know as well as I do - if this was the case we’d know about it

He was a boring, smug twat. Could tell that minute he spoke.
I did like the way he started with a plan, but had to abandon it as soon as he realised his audience was maybe a bit more hostile than he expected :D

I’m sure Richardson or FRP were easily accessible - they were for NEC and Ashley anyway
I assure you Richardson was not and after the initial discussions about paying acl or having to play games elsewhere neither were ccc or Reeves. Same for the other director. Anyway as northern says I have zero influence and if details need to be shared they should be on the record and help to resolve not drive wedges

Have you thought Tim Fisher might want to stay on as chairman with a different owner, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
It would be my opinion that the only reason Tim Fisher is where he is is precisely because we’re owned by SISU. Personally I struggle to think of one tangible benefit to the club having Tim Fisher. Could be wrong but I suspect Tim Fisher last day with CCFC will coincide with SISU’s.

He’s a lot like a politician. In fact I guess that’ll be his next career change

Yeah it is quite naive to suggest once that everybody would be treated equally considering the past.

They must have developed a complicated yet functional working relationship with Robins? A new chairman may not see eye to eye with the manager and may want him gone. This is a very real possibility.

I still think they didn't bid prior to admin as they were sharing the future profit from it wth A nother.
Open biding would not have left them with enough of an out.

Labovitch? Bollocks? I’m shocked, shocked I tell you.

I miss him personally. He was worth keeping on purely for his entertainment value when doing live interviews on CWR.

Think of it as a horse race. The start line was NOI to appoint an administrator. MA and the NEC turned up with a horse each. And they’re off and the NEC has fallen at the first hurdle called outbid on a pre packed administration leaving MA in the lead of a 2 horse race as the preferred bidder. Meanwhile SISU still hasn’t got the horse out of the stable let alone to the race track.

Never too late though…

Would you rather?

- Carry on as we are now, but Fisher goes
- New owner comes in and gets shot of Robins, brings in Steve Bruce, and Fisher stays
Robins has to finish what he has started on about 5 occasions now. As you’ve always said it’s only modest backing he needs not multiple millions

How can you bid for something when aren’t able to talk to the seller and don’t know what’s up for sale or included in the price??
Fuck me Pete. They’ve been here for 10 years now, they’ve taken ACL to court in one guise or another various times. If they don’t understand the structure of ACL by now there’s no hope for them. All they had to do is read one of OSB’s posts on here explaining it.

Likely scenario

Ashley takes over CBS
SISU come to the realisation CCFC is no longer a viable model without a stadium and sell up.
Fisher leaves
Ashley bring in Hoffman as chairman
As a fan Hoffman has realised the monumental work Robins has put in over the last few seasons and knows how much of an asset he is and will be now he has some cash to spend and will do so wisely. MR is the sort of manager that will bring in players for peanuts, develop them and sell them on for a small fortune. A bit like what Rodgers did at Celtic.

Which would be fair enough, except there seems to be the suggestion that Ashley's "horse" had an eight week head start courtesy of being tipped off by the council that ACL were heading for administration (well before the NOI).

That may be completely made up of course, but the Council does have form for shady dealing regarding ACL. If it did happen this way then both SISU and the NEC could reasonably claim to have been nobbled, in racing parlance.

Now it's entirely likely that Ashley would win regardless, given that at best SISU would likely enter a three-legged nag, but that doesn't give the Council the right to fix the race. That possibility is where my concern lies.

Are we done with racing metaphors now? 😁

In all seriousness I don’t think this is likely, i think it’s a fans wet dream (more bedwetters).

My current expectation:

- Ashley buys CBS
- Joy fucks off at the end of the season having sold anything she can
- Ashley sacks Robins and brings in a “name”
- Ashley finds some ex pro to be Director of Football
- We get stuck with a bunch of dodgy signings.

I think Ashley would have done that before, but not sure now if a project is on his mind.

It'll be Dennis WIse as DoF - the populist appointment to curry favour...

Perhaps it is a dream...However I would like to challenge some points you made.

VG chance Ashley will get CBS - Agreed.

SISU are not selling for silly money. Hoffman made an offer years ago and in that time I would hazard a guess and say SISU have lost a lot more since. They could sell the players but if they are going to be like that if I were MA I would wait before making an offer, the losses are going to increase on SISU's side over the next few months and the sale of key players will take huge chunks of that money. MA comes back to the table with a discounted offer. If SISU sell now they don't have to worry about any of the overheads, they are done with CCFC.

Ashley sacking Robins would be a huge mistake. The guy has got Coventry to midtable with literally nothing and has made real assets of some of the players. This is not a flash in the pan either, MR recognises what players bring to the club and improves their value.

Who knows mate, obviously not if they wanted Ashley to win though.

I was much happier when it looked like the Council weren't involved at all, because to me that would be the proper process.

However there seems to be the clear suggestion that they have been sticking their oar in again, which given the history of the club and ACL isn't something I ever wanted to hear.
