Going back a few seasons, and - away games apart - singing (even shouting/ support) at home games would often get you some strange looks and you'd feel either awkward about it, or be looked at as an oddball. That seems to have changed a lot. Our fans seem to have regained / discovered the joy of letting it out at the game, and what a difference it has made. You now see a lot of older fans really enjoying joining in the vocal support and it has spread beyond Singers corner,

Totally irrelevant to the above, I have started to notice that in the 'City unseen' videos Bidwell seems slowly to have become part of the group. Love that clip of O'Hare pushing his head back and fore after the QPR game, and the grin Bidwell has Great to see.

QPR fans on the train thought Singer's corner was 'Swinger's corner' and we were singing 'let's all sleep together'. Funny bunch

Think lots of fans in all areas of the east stand expect now to sing it had now spread to block 1 which is growing by the week

The atmosphere has definitely improved.

Wouldn’t say it stretches much past block 16 though. Bought a ticket late for Wigan game and had to sit in block 20. No atmosphere at all.

It’s bittersweet for me that we have people that actually turn up now. I live in Norfolk so have to pick and choose games and was always able to get a ticket in block 14 on the day of the game. Nowadays, have to buy ticket weeks in advance and end up in 18/19. Still, prefer how it is now with bigger attendances.

Looking through Twitter I was amazed at the amount of QPR fans that thought the atmosphere at CBS was the best in the championship by far - they thought that only Sunderland came close.
They couldn’t believe we sang right through the whole game and even suggested that they should get a drummer in at Loftus Road.
We might take it for granted but we don’t realise exactly how special we are!
MR and the team truly believe we are making a difference and I agree - I’ve been going up since 1974 and this is the best & most enthusiastic Sky Blue support I’ve known.

From the posh seats, the sound seemed to spread from singers corner, all the way round to behind the goals. (They were even starting songs). You had your hearing checked recently?? ;)

Used to love getting chants started, even from when I was a kid back in the west terrace. Unfortunately I'm behind the goal now due to my dad not being up to standing in block 15 anymore. I think my lad isn't ready for there yet either, he's 7. Could be wrong.
Not much singing behind the goal but it's quick to get served for a pint.

When people said the arena was soulless I said the problem isn't the building, it's what goes on in it. If we managed a bit of success and gave fans something to cheer about the atmosphere could be every bit as good, if not better, than HR.

The ground has some of the best acoustics I've been to.

This is why people sit in Block 1 next to the away fans. There's no room left in the corner (because the club/safety group limited numbers.

It's crazy that because of one fan running past a steward to go for Derby fans, that we can't sit in block 13.

For one game we sat in the family zone in the opposite corner, I thought the noise made in 14/15/16 may just feel concentrated to that area but I was impressed how much the sound travels round the stadium

I was up in the social distancing block , I'm a silly old sod but sang my heart out as did a great number around us , it was probably the best I've known up at the arena

Watch the Unseen video of when Hamer is coming out of the tunnel , the noise is tremendous

I know every fan thinks his club is special but it feels like there is something very special going on at our club just now... maybe its the sum of all we've been through, I don't know... but I just hope the final pieces fall into place for us.

We’re at a disadvantage to most other clubs though. Atmosphere doesn’t just start inside the stadium. It gets built up in pubs next to the ground, at pop up bars on the stadium footprint, on the short walk from the train station / town centres.
Other clubs are better than us at this, but most of it is out of our control.

On the other hand, we’re helped by the fact that the last couple years has been a huge improvement and you could also argue that adversity has made us more passionate.

Or I could be talking bollocks!

Agreed. I also think loud music played right up to kick in off doesn't help, because the fans just can't get anything going over the volume of the music. As soon as the music is killed at kick off you notice the fans .
