If adult discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of our players upsets you, maybe internet football forums aren’t for you.

We all support Wilson, we all wish him the best, we’re just saying the stats don’t support the idea he’s the best keeper in the league, at all.
He is shit, let's face it. Let's just celebrate the fact he's less shit than he started out being at the club, so he might end up adequate at some point.

Why do you keep saying this? You are getting too defensive and trying to avoid saying you got it wrong.

I do not rate him especially highly. I am saying he is nowhere near as bad as you made out he was.

Do you still think he's utter shite? Yes or no?
I don’t think he’s good enough to be our long-term number one keeper in the Championship, no.
He’s also ever so well protected by the defence, which is testament to the way Robins has set us up.

I am not saying he is good enough for that either.

I am saying he isn't as shit as you said he was. Have you changed your mind or still think he's total crap?

It sounds like you are now toning down your criticism of him so I guess things have changed even if you won't admit it

I’m glad he’s cut out the erratic tendencies but the defence has been immense and has protected him a lot over the recent run.
The goals conceded against Blackpool were a farce though.

To be fair to him, I don't think Moore would've kept that long range effort out. Also didn't clear out their man in the first half which was also a big problem with him before.

So there has been some improvement even if small

Agree. Have to hope he can limit the mistakes until Moore comes back in or we sign a new number one keeper

I mean great if he transforms into that but I can't see it

He’s trying to match up and beat defence with defence

I can’t see Moore being number one for us again and I’m not convinced Robins will offer Wilson another contract either.
The problem with both of them is that they’ve not been a regular number one keeper throughout their career.
The defence had exceeded all expectations for me and along with Sheaf has been the reason why we’ve conceded so few goals recently.

We'll have to save wages in jan.

Moore will go.
Bilson has gone out on loan during the break
Cian Tyler they didn't want cup tied so refused him to play for Hereford.

Come Feb it will be wilson in goal
Tyler on the bench
Bilson out on loan
Moore out the club

Michael Cooper at Plymouth or Jamie Cumming at MK Dons would do nicely

Well do we want to convert him into a genuine RWB or are we putting him there as a stopgap? For his sake we need to decide what kind of player we want him to be and help him become it.

Point is he isn’t going to play much at CM, and he needs to be playing men’s football. He’ll learn more at RWB for us than L1 or in the U23s.

I don’t think it’s going to do him much harm, he’ll learn the defensive side and can make mistakes without it being in a vital area of the pitch. It’s not like we’re sticking him somewhere totally out there, he’s just playing right midfield instead of central midfield.

We need someone to take them and to match or improve their wages though.
And that would be the easier of the two parts ... we also have a wafer thin squad and therefore need to replace them with more quality for the same wages!

Good debate regarding Eccles. I agree I think it's a great learning curve for him to be playing week in, week out (twice a week really). He will learn from it and is improving, we can see that, and let's be honest he was really harshly picked on from two games at the start of the season.

HIs future? CM? RWB? You'd imagine he'll be pushing for centre mid and we should be too but he can fill in at RWB adequately.

The same for Burroughs, can play LWB or RWB but apparently his natural position is attacking midfield. For now though he's back up LWB and has MRs trust to play RWB too instead of Kane, as proven against Watford.

At some point they will need to nail down a position and excel in it but for now, any first team exposure is good for them.

He's in the team performing every week so deserves his place and upturn in form the defence became a tight unit, with him between the sticks.
