In my mind without a shadow of a doubt. The best midfield in the league (if not the most under rated). Might be a big statement to some.
Im adding Ohare in there as a 3.
although on his own he is not going to be the value of the other 3 - Allen perfectly complements them and with Gyok up front, the front 5 is the best

so that means our defence and keeper is our weak link - LOL - count the clean sheets and even shots on target for the opposition

I don’t think wel keep everyone together in Jan, but we’re really only a RCB, RWB, GK away from a very very good side at this level. The rest must be up there as the best in their position in the division.

Yeah I think that’s right you know. Even if that means we lose one of those good players to a large fee and then reinvest in players throughout the squad

Long held the belief that our midfield is as good as anything else in the Championship and we are actually a half decent football team and players and fans are actually believing that themselves.

Yeah, if Robins was given the funds I’d back him to find those players. Though maybe not in the Jan window, so I do think a Jan sale might scupper us. But generally if we sold Vik for an eight figure sum and gave most of it to Robins I’d back him to fill out the squad. I really don’t think we’ll find another Vik though. So may have to reconfigure the style a bit. A younger Godden with pace (potentially Walker but looking less likely) being fed by O’Hare and Palmer could be interesting. Unless we can find another prolific battering ram.

if we were to get £20m for Gyok
Rumoured £3m to Brighton
£10m for Joys handbag
Would leave £7m to replace Gyok and add 2 other key signings (as we couldnt replace Gyok on a like for like)

Just realised,

Gyok-24
Ohare -24
Sheaf-24
Hamer-25
Palmer 26
Allen 27

Is this age the sweet spot for recruitment when replacing?

SBP and Shmmeee it would be nice if there was investment but think MR would be left looking at free transfer and loans while Sisu are here(bring on MA).I hope we just keep hold of them all in January and see where this team can go you never know.If we held on to them all untill the summermaybe just maybe it could be us offering them premiership wages.

When talking about the midfield dispite being much milined on here I feel Jamie Allen is very much part of the reason we have the best midfield in the league,He may not be a tackler like Sheaf and Hamer but the chasing and harriying cause the opposition all sorts of problems.Thought QPR game was great example they had no time on the ball before a city player was on them.Long may it continue.

His energy and running is important to our play.

It is , did you read the boxes with the explanations ? I would before the gloating

I did. I’m not sure I’d agree Sheafs role is to progress the ball more than Allen’s. It’s entirely data based categorisation. Allen doesn’t progress the ball and when he does he’s not very good at it. Hardly what you want from an AM.

I've already told you Allen had played central midfield mostly this season

Hmmm. I’m really not sure how this graph disproves my point. I’m still not convinced that is our Allen, because his overall pass completion is good, but I could believe his progressive passes are particularly poor.

Well the graph states its not really Allen's job , but also at the same time suggests sheaf should be doing a bit better ?

Argue with the graph

Infact , and as we all pointed out .. Allen was picked Irrespective of player fitness .. maybe Robins doesn't know his stuff , you're the only one arguing it at this point

The graph knows nothing of our team or style of play. Do you agree Sheaf plays a more progressive role in our team than Allen?

I think you at this point are the only person arguing against Allen and his input , that says alot

Im just telling you what the graph says!

Cool , at the end of the day , the Allen vendetta is extraordinarily boring.. the manager picks him even when they are all fit .. like we said he would .. you ever ask why ? A shit player ? A player that as you say , does nothing with a football

My biggest criticism of Allen is he doesn't get us on the front foot enough where receiving the ball but he is starting to do it more tegularly and he did iit Sturday in te build up to the 2nd goal.
