Trouble is I keep thinking we ve hit rock bottom then it gets worse!

What's to discuss? We are awful but are appointing a new manager this week. We have to believe it will get better, if not from their skill and motivation but at least from the usual honeymoon period after a new boss joins.

I feel like some people are not aware of this???!!

But if it's still bad after the new boss then THAT will be our lowest point. How many seasons in the champ did we got top early on and then fall away? It's a long season and a shit start means we've pretty much got a 10 point penalty. But we can make playoffs from here.

We are now 20th out of 24; kept out of the relegation zone on goal difference and even then Orient have a game in hand on us.

I do have to ask though, why is losing at home to Stevenage at home beyond comprehension?

We are a League One side now and we have to just accept that the likes of Stevenage and Leyton Orient and Crewe are going to be beating us, even if we end up having a good season.

We oldies have experienced worse .. relegation to Division 4 (from Div 3 (South) and defeats by non-league teams along the way. Kings Lyn for example. That was 50 odd years ago now, but my support has not wavered once. CCFC is my team, no matter what... just grin and bear it ! Forest Green and Cheltenham next season ?

I'm not condemning them; I just think it shows the potential we have as a club. It shows the casual fans will not only support their team, they will take an afternoon off work, travel a hundred miles and spend their hard-earned to do it. Unfortunately, we need them at home rather than away in the Cup.

Surely you must have worked out that these are football day trippers by now. You can never say that these folks should be here against stevenage because they never would be. A lot only perhaps have a infrequent interest in football full stop

Forget about what's gone before, focus on the realities of now. Stevenage are a very good side and only narrowly lost to one of the best sides in League 1 last season in the playoffs. In fact, a bit of luck and they could be a Championship club right now. They are everything Cov aren't. They have a good manager, are well organised, and above all, have team spirit. Yesterday wasn't a shock, it was an inevitability.

Find a brilliant new manager to galvanise the team and the club and get promoted in the way that Norwich, Southampton, Leicester, Wednesday, Charlton etc did or pick another wrong 'un and see the club spiral down the divisions and probably go the way of Luton. Looking at the table we have played, drawn or lost to half of the teams in the top six. Come Christmas everybody will have played everybody. As things stand we could realistically be as high as fourth, having already played the best teams in the league.

I did say "in the past"

My point is that the difference is that most going to Arsenal will have at some point had more than a casual interest in the club. Non-league teams will have never had that kind of passion to reignite. The 7000 non-league fans will view their local club as a second team.

All the teams you mention that got promoted did so because of supportive boards with a bit of cash to spend. It wasn't just because of the Manager, it was a combination of the two. Sadly, the Luton Town situation is more comparable.

We dont do sucess,we dont do promotions.......hell we dont even do play-offs or mid table mediocrity.

Because anybody over the age of 25 or so grew up with us playing (and often beating) the like of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Man U. It certainly feels beyond comprehension to me that we are now shitter than Crewe and Stevenage.

I actually refuse to accept it and plan to sit in a darkened room watching my 88/89 season review video and reading my old programmes until we finally return to the top flight. Can somebody give me a bell when its safe to come out please?

I certainly feel at my lowest ebb in 35+_ years of CCFC watching.. that said sadly I'm not convinced we have reached rock bottom, I hope I'm wrong but we might have further to fall, unless a mystery benefactor can be found and quickly I cannot see how a business plan cast long before SISU tenure can support our beloved club.
A revenue stream that doesn't support the very basic functional structure of the business requirement is fatal.

Stevenage fans singing "Premier league and you F*^&ed it up..." really struck home to me yesterday. How right they were.

I certainly feel at my lowest ebb in 35+_ years of CCFC watching

Lucky you, I been watching them since the mid 60's! having said that, this is certainly my lowest ebb supporting the Sky Blues.

I watched the game yesterday and thought we were awful, Stevenage were marginally less awful but did enough for the three points. A new manager is not going to be the savour of the club, we just don't seem to have the players who can scrap for points. I thought the Stevenage supporters made more noise than us and the ground looked deserted which doesn't create a good atmosphere to play in.

I don't think we're fooked just yet, it's early days but we have to adopt a winning mentality (how many games is it that we've thrown a lead away) otherwise the gap for promotion places is going to widen week by week.

I was more concerned from a business sustainability point of view...more so than a direct footballing perspective.. I don't think we will be relegated from this league with or without a manager.
