O'Hare is a Burden on the Team (17 Viewers)

The one reason why I don't think we'd implode this season if we lost Vik - and it was only him we lost (ducks for cover), is that the team play should ensure that if we replaced with a half decent striker (a fit Godden would do, but we'd obviously need more) the overall play would still create enough to win a decent amount of games. What you wouldn't get is the powerhouse Wigan type goals.
Would be a huge loss, but not one we couldn't overcome.

Edit: I'd still hate to break up any of the team at the moment - would be gutting initially.
Sorry every team misses goal scorers just look at Liverpool not the same even with Mo Salah without Sadio Mane provern goal scorers are the hardest things to find in football lose them at your peril.

Of course we'd miss him. I said I didn't think we'd implode , provided we kept all the others and replaced with another (obviously unlikely to be a 'Vik')

We were talking about CH at half time yesterday and were saying that he was the nearest player we’ve had that terrifies defenders since Huckerby albeit without the end product. However look what he did for the first goal and how many times has he done a similar thing. I don’t care if he doesn’t score another goal we have two players that get you out of your seat due to how they play Him and Viktor one is tenacious and tricky the other a monster

Disagree .
Oh we might plod on but where's the desire and ambition.
Robins deserves full backing or they should just get out.

Not sure I agree about Godden - Vik also creates a lot himself - personally, i'd look to move Godden on over the summer.

I agree. He misses far too many games and his injuries appear to be affecting his performances, he's not been great when he has played this season.

Yeah. I get that. That's why I said a fit Godden, who I agree has been missing so far this season.

Vik will want a move (unless perhaps we got promoted) so it's not all in our (manager or owner's) hands. I'd hold out until the summer regardless.

Thing is H, prior to his injury, his finishing has been poor this season, he was missing chances he'd have scored this time last year.
And when he's not giving you that, he's not really giving you much.

I feel for him because you can't help injuries but they really seem to be taking their toll on him.

It was obvious how badly we missed him at the start of the season, he's utterly integral to how we play (and how successful we are).

I'm sure this will initially attract a barrage of insults, but as much as I really want the lad to succeed, he's not offering anywhere near enough for a championship attacking midfielder that plays every game.

I've heard comments that he is the best player we've had since relegation from the Premier League. Personally I don't see it at all.

I think we could sell him and whilst I'm not exactly confident the owners would reinvest it, should he go for the touted 5 million, even 20% of that would find someone who could score or assist more than what he is offering at the moment. Playing for territory is something wasps should be proud of, not us, and it feels like that and work rate are about his only major attributes. It's becoming a cult in itself though, and match after match there are people that leap to his defence in what in my view seems irrationally obsessive.

His stats in the league (last 3 seasons):

105 appearances
7 goals
16 assists

I've been at times really excited by him, and when we signed him from Villa permanently I was estatic, but that euphoria has seriously plateaued over time.

I'm not looking for emotive rage, just someone please, kindly and respectfully change my mind.
Mate, you have to be ready to admit you have had a mare here?!?

Now more or less fully fit O’Hare is showing again how vital to the team is us and the fans it has to be said, absolutely magnificent, taking up two players at a time creating room and space for Vik perhaps there is a sky blue God, let’s thank him for fucking Burnley off.

Is it accepted that that's what happened with the Burnley move? I thought we wanted a different pay structure so rejected it or something similar? I miss @Skybluebeliever 😢

To be fair to ESB, he's made a shit point in the OP but ducked out when he saw his main two
allies were sheafisgod and cc84 cov, no one deserves that!

Only got half way through but I'll revisit it, sensational stuff!

On that note I have a real problem with Ben Sheaf making an account on here with a blasphemous username to slag off his teammates and especially to focus on O'Hare out of what can only be jealousy. It's bad enough that Dom Hyam still browses the forum after leaking ITK news for years.

Admitting you are wrong, or changing your mind? Come on! You know that's not how things work on here.

Seriously though, yes, I was very frustrated with him at the time and overcooked it. That's fair. I still think the points around his end product were reasonable, but since he has made a lot of progress with it, so you have to acknowledge that. You can see the effect on his own confidence and that then rubs off on the team as well. There's a few players that pick themselves as things stand, and he is certainly one of them.

This will be my last remark on this for now, but I definitely have to accept I'll go down in the SBT hall of fame with this regardless!

Fair play, end product lacked for a while but his overall play has always impressed me!

How are we going to get promoted in January?
So they HAVE TO hold on as long as possible if he goes in January our season will be over, yes we have other goalscorers but none that do what he does all over the park.
Keep him or sisu need to leave as they have no interest in our club whatsoever.

The.

Our style of play changed the second he stepped foot on the pitch.

Hamer now has someone who he can play intricate football with. Gyökeres has someone to create chances.

He's massive for us.
He's a class act was badly missed. The team is really exciting now if we can keep them all together we could have a right good go at the playoffs that's some turn around

Agree with the sentiment, but I think we are both long enough in the tooth to know that we can't affect that in any way.

We may be long in the tooth but former owners have tried to make funds available

When we sold Leon Clarke and Wilson and soon ended up with josh mcquod we could see there approach was…unique

I don't, it now gives us all a chance to chat utter shit without anyone with 'real' knowledge correcting us.
Also, much prefer to concentrate on what happens on the pitch, all the 'ITKs' seemed to bring was negative news.

Sheaf, Hamer and O'Hare break up so much in the middle of the park - must be like annoying flies you can't swat away, for the opposition.
They really have all of the dimensions you want covered from a midfield unit.

O Hare is like an annoying mosquitoe just buzzing around everywhere and not giving anyone a moments rest, harrying defenders closing down from the front, and is able to just have the ball absolutely hooned at him from anywhere and he manages to control it/flick it on etc. Draws tackles/fouls and is starting to get assists now too, and drags players out of position creating space for others

Hamer is a nasty little bastard with high risk high reward passes, just loves the ball, loves a challenge, gets back and defends too (loads of that against QPR). Has a great shot on him too and great technique with free kicks and corners

Sheaf does all the dirty work and is the unsung hero, nothing flash or fancy just cleans everything up and does everything noone else will and get's his job done
