Lynval was stabbed in the chest. I have seen the scar. When it was in the Telegraph he was in hospital, his house was robbed..Cov hey. After that he got the scariest dog you have ever seen in your life that could jump about 8 foot from a standing start.

The music that happened 70 s n 80s in and around was brill.for Terry to pass away after performing at the city of culture award .there is a god.

Just had Don Hutchinson on competing with the presenter who would have gone for anyone out of bananarama. ☺️

Apparently Queen were destined for the Wolfe too but they charted with a record and pulled out to go on tv or radio.

When the Specials broke up, they had the potential to be one of the biggest bands in the world. They were an awesome live act. I say that having seen most of the main bands at that time and the Specials from the very start when they were the Automatics, then the Coventry Automatics. Even saw Terry in the Squad. Unfortunately, kids fall out, but they were no better when they tried to reform being older but no wiser. Terry was no doubt a great singer the rock around which the whirlwind circled. 63 is no age and I feel sorry for his family. He leaves a great musical and anti-racist legacy and I can almost forgive him for supporting Man U. In the Colourfield days, I think he even moved to Manchester to watch the reds, although Toby Lyons came from up there. I spoke to Terry a few times back in the day, and his deadpan humour was legendary. I even remember him from the stamp shop. His talent will be missed. Time for Dammers to get off his arse and show why he was one of the great songwriters and performers.

Do you know what school he was at then? Because he went to Woodway Park, as did I and as I have already mentioned, I did know of him and saw him about. Just wondered if that was the school involved, or whether it happened before and he then transferred to Woodway.

I didn't hear anything at all at the time. I guess it was all hushed up back then.

How horrendous.

I'm only going from what I heard on the radio when Terry told the world about his abuse. Only came into contact with Terry properly in the late 70s. Know nothing about his school days, although he did say the abuse was by a teacher! I know he used to catch the Canley bus into town, as a close mate used to sit with him. The Council had a policy of mixing different areas in schools. I travelled from one end of the city to the other on my free bus pass. Having worked in a school, kids at risk can be moved to a safer environment.

The guy's a legend, he changed music, fashion, racism over night.
Put Coventry on the map, only happy memories for me, the first time I heard Gangsters I was blown away.
Yes Cov was gritty, ugly and dangerous but I fuckin loved it.
It's my home town and a proud Coventrian I'll remain.
Thank you for the memories Terry Hall, you will never be forgotten, and your music will last forever.

What a fruit horrific thing to happen to a 12 year old schoolchild.

He showed the level of his talent too, in that he went on to have great success with the Fun Boy Three, then Colourfield, then as a solo artist.

My uncle was the drummer for Squad and my other uncle managed them in 1978.
Before my time so that's all the details I’ve got.

I must admit I hated the reggae ska 2 tone stuff but he was a very talent lyricist and musician

I just can't believe he has gone. It took me a good while to get over JB's passing. The Specials were the light in the tunnel for a second generation Windrush teenager. When I meet him (during the FB3 days( I found him to be a very humble and friendly guy. The Specials were and are the soundtrack to my life. 'So long Rude Boy. The special guy in a special band'

I read an interview with him once and he said it paid off his mortgage and made him comfortable. He deserved it, great song.

Yes Horace set it all out… there was to be an unbelievable reggae collaboration and Terry had penned the tracks. It’s all so sad.

Pancreatic cancer is fucking horrible. It doesn't generally present until it's too late.

It was what did for my Dad (69 when he got it, but so very sudden. Diagnosed in the April, gone in the August).

The doctor told him "You have cancer IN the liver but not OF the liver"

Further tests revealed the source was the pancreas. Sounds like TH had a similar journey.

RIP Terry.

My mother was diagnosed late December died early February, It is the most deadliest form of cancer with the fastest and least survivable rates
