I usually agree with you MMM, but I actually think this is a great job for someone looking to build/rebuild their reputation. We have a talented squad, certainly capable of promotion in theory.

We've seen how a promotion can make a Manager flavour of the month and get him a move to a better club over the summer.

I think this is an attractive opportunity.

I'm not saying that any manager wouldn't take it, and I agree we're someone able to turn things around its be a great opportunity for them. I was just stating that a 'top manager' would be so unaccustomed to the total circus that surrounds us that it's totally conjecture as to whether they'd be able to adapt their skills. I mean, can you think of a post with more 'baggage' associated with it right now? Pompey? I think that's it

Yep I would say we are whole lot more attractive now than 6 months ago

Have a decent squad with comparison with the rest of the league and one of the highest wage budget

Managers will think they have a relatively good chance of promotion and then reap the rewards of it

I'll humour you by answering your slightly irrelevant question. We kept our manager. They got rid of theirs, good or bad. The result was the same. We both got relegated.

We both had the lowest funding of the first team squad in the league though. I think that has more relevance than whatever point you're trying to make

Touching though your support for Sisu's stance on keeping Thorn as manager last season is, I would still have to say that they were particularly ill-advised to keep him, whereas Doncaster were particularly ill-advised to get rid of theirs.

I think that the previous couple of seasons that Doncaster were in the Championship they would also have been in the bottom two on wages, however didn't get relegated.

The compentancy of the management of both clubs isn't something I would disagree with. In the same way you must acknowledge that the lowest two funded clubs both going down does indicate a trend it's absurd to ignore

How is wanting Phil Brown (a Manager who got Hull City to the top flight AND kept them up) 'stupid', but choosing some flavour of the month who hasn't managed above League 2 a great idea?

Nobody knows who will do well and who will do badly - that's what makes football so interesting.

One thing is for sure, the players need a firm hand as they're taking the piss and not giving it 100%.

Because it is the difference between someone whose star is on the wane and someone's who is on the rise.

Why are people suggesting Phil Brown? I don't get it. His stats are pretty goddamn awful.

In his last role with Preston he had just 15 wins out of 51 matches.
