Rose, Fadz and Dabo, however the back line needs strengthening in quality and depth. We have lost Hyam. Panzo and Doyle will return to their parent clubs. Robins has highlighted there isnt much coming through the age groups currently. We currently need 2 or 3 new Cb's, a right back better than Dabo, who remains as back up, another left back also.

Id argue we have a right back better the Dabo in Burroughs

Thought Dabo played really well in the last game 3 cracking crosses that should have been goals.
Even sky commentators loved him.
Definatly keep.

Dabo is good but made of glass, we simply can't afford to keep someone who is misses so many games. He's missed 35-40% every season we've been in the championship. Another injury this season and it's a definite no from me, he just doesn't seem able to cope with the physical demands of the championship. His appearances over the last 2.5 years

2020/21: 28 of 46 league games (60%)

2021/22: 29 of 46 league games (63%)

2022/23: 15 of 23 league games (65%)

That said if he can maintain and prove his fitness for the rest of the season then I would reconsider.

Fadz

How much weekly wage do we reckon gets freed up by that lot?

I think Da Costa is also out of contact in the summer?

That's actually more appearances than I thought and isn't too bad. I would rather have a good player who plays over a half of the games than a poor one who is always fit.

Dabo has been a good p!ayer for us over the years but always needs 3-4 games to get back up to speed. He may be playing 60% of games a season but is injured 4-6 weeks twice a season and is then poor for another 3-4 weeks while he gets up to speed. Would be sorry to see him leave but he needs to stay fit the rest of the season and prove he's worth another contract.

agree, but it gets harder as you get older, and Fanky is no spring chick

I agree, I like Dabo but like Godden you just can't afford to pay 100% of a salary for a player that misses more than a third of the games.

Keep Rose and Fadz. Rest can go. See if we can ship Allen, Moore and Godden out too. Proper rebuild in the summer. I trust the management team.

We are realistically going to keep as many as we can, doubt we can afford a comprehensive rebuild as even free signings come with signing on fees.

He had a decent cameo, but his stats in over 100 appearances for the club are shocking. You don't renew someone based on a single substitute appearance.

If we want to progress we need to move him on really. Not massively better than Grimmer.

Most of them are nowhere near the first team though. Robins strategy with a small budget is clearly a small squad. The likes of Dabo, Walker, Waghorn, Kelly, Hilsner, Dacosta are just burning wages.
Fair point, should make some decent headroom getting some of those off the wage bill

Would keep rose, dabo, fadz.we have enough cover for dabo ,bidwell I would play CB get another LWB and 2 CBs as back up .
Midfield 1 centre midfielder.decent striker to challenge big Vic(if still at the city).
With bidwell think he has the calmness and composure to do a good job and has played the role already.(just my opinion feel free to disagree).

Thing is though we already need, say, 4 players? Maybe more.

8 of those in the OP are in and around the first team (whether we like it or not!) and I just don't see us then signing 10-12 players.

Seems like too much turnover, and whilst we clearly need better depth I can't see Robins churning over the squad that much when we have such togetherness and team spirit.

Though I would quite like you to be right and see MR go on a Football Manager style spree!

He’s done it before, especially if you include loans. Last season: 8+1 (summer+winter), before that 10+3, before that 14+2, before that 20 (can’t remember the split).

You feel like he hasn’t because there’s been a bunch of duds or young gambles. But 10 players over the summer is nothing really.

I’d go:

GK/Moore/Youth Keeper
RWB/Burroughs
RCB/Rose
CB/Fadz
LCB
LWB/Bidwell
Hamer/Eccles
Sheaf/CM
O’Hare/Palmer/AM
ST/ST/ST

Assuming Vik goes. That’s 11, maybe 9 if you hang onto Allen and Godden for another season. Easily doable. Might have Howley or another step up as well.

I'd be surprised if we also hang on to Hamer in the summer, with him only having one year left on his contract

Think this is pretty much bang on but can't see us keeping Moore, who is presumably on decent money, as 2nd choice. Same as Bidwell, who I believe is perfectly good enough to be a play off chasing first choice.

Also you probably need an extra CM to cover for Eccles injury proneness - Allen a cheap option?

Oh yeah I know he's done it before, I don't disagree. I don't know it just feels like right now with the progress we've made that seems like too much turnover in one hit.

Especially as signing 10 players of the quality we want would be bloody expensive. Feels like we'd have to make 2 or 3 big signings per season plus some filler, rather than 10 upgrades at once.

Of course that all depends on the takeover and what money we have from the Gyokeres sale. I would love us to make solid upgrades on pretty much all those listed in the OP.

Fadz and Rose 1 year contracts only.

Bapaga had so much hope but nothing seemed to develop, if he’s super cheap I’d keep him around for one more year as the development squad always needs players on their books to fill a full team, bin the rest

I’ll be pissed if Wilson gets a contract, he’s useless

We aren't going to sign 2 keepers in the summer, so I imagine it'll be Moore who goes as the more expensive one if anyone does.

Dabo and rose will be retained if they agree - Mcfazdean might rose may not sign - all other outfield ones will go

Also hamer will go as he’s contracts going and Gyokeres if he doesn’t sign a new deal

O hare is not going to be fit probably until end 2023 and will have 6 months left.

it’s possible only Allen Bidwell and Godden as first teamers will stay

Fingers crossed robins tells Wilson he will be on the bench and he thinks to himself nah I’m better than that I want first team action and doesn’t sign the contract
Or other clubs see how many clean sheets we’ve had this season and assume he’s good and puts in a bigger offer
