Wilson 8

Clean sheet and better than recent performances. Ran out well. Gathered well.

Doyle 7

Ok

Rose 7

Ok

Panzo 7

Ok

Dabo 7

Thought he did quite well and got forward well. Hit the defenders more than space though.

Bidwell 6

Gets into good positions but doesn’t hit the space or run in as much as he should. Sometimes he leaves balls that he possibly could reach if he put his foot to the floor. Either he’s slow or lazy.

Sheaf 8

The difference between him now and 12 months ago is staggering. One thing he does is play the ball forward more than he did. Before many passes were sideways or backwards. Great interceptions and totally baffling why he went off.

Hamer 8

Good performance but no rewards. Sitting deeper and running towards the box plays to his strengths. Good efforts on goal. Unlucky.

Allen 6

One or two good bits of play but out of his depth. Sorry.

Palmer 7

Just not his day. Good touch, movement, pressing.

Gyok 7

Kicked all over and had his short pulled more than a Xmas cracker. In the Prem he’d have the protection of VAR and would be a different prospect.

Subs

Kane 6

Good runs and went with the law of average tactic: kick it over 10 times and 2 kicks will be decent.

Waghorn 3

Totally inept. Offside pointlessly on shirt pass interplays. Dummies to the opposition and wayward passes.

No threat, no creativity, no point.

£15k / week? (According to SBB) Disgraceful decision. I said at the time it was a strange decision and got pelters. I was wrong. Awful signing.

Rose was excellent as was Sheaf, good cameo from Toddy, thought we were good defensively, and the better team overall.

Wilson - Not worth rating. An under 8 keeper could have done his job tonight.

Dabo - 5: Clear he was unfit. Generally ok considering.

Rose 7
Doyle 7
Panzo 7.5

Bidwell 5:. A better attacking full back has a field day tonight. So many good balls to him and very little done. Agonisingly slow at times. Would love to see him as a left back in a 4.

Hamer 7.5
Sheaf 7.5
Allen 6 - Works hard but the prime example of a player that's just not good enough if we want to aim for a higher position. Would he start in any other side in the top 12?

Palmer 6: Frustrating player. Some lovely bits of play but lost of wasteful attempts. Beyond on, he's no O'Hare and doesn't drag defenders away from Vik.

Vik 5: Completely pocketed. Trying to much because there is absolutely no options to support him. If only we had a decent player up there with him. Referee gave him absolutely nothing.

Subs

Kane 7 - Clearly trying to put himself in the shop window. Looked good.

Waghorn - Taking into account the wages, one of the worst signings Robins has ever made. Movement was awful. Touch was poor. Painfully slow. Stuck with him until the end of his contact.

Robins - What does Taveres have to do to have a chance over Waghorn. Surely he can't do much worse?

Defence did what they could and played well as a unit. Hamer below par again. Sheaf his normal self. Allen off tonight. Palmer growing into the team and Gyokeres wanted to get into a battle that he was never going to win.
Robins...love the bloke but tactics was poor tonight. If we take the same approach against Bristol City then we will not win that game.
Really feels like 2 points lost this evening.
Cardiff came here for a point and got it.
Anyway, can't wait for Sunday! PUSB!

Wilson picking up some of the easiest 8's of his life here. Really didn't have anything to do. Thought Panzo, Hamer and Sheaf were probably the pick. Didn't think Dabo was as bad as some people saw him on here tbh. We missed O'Hare.

Its easy to say we missed O’Hare but the fact is too many others didn’t step up. We missed a ST two wingbacks and a second AM today. And a someone to tell one of the CBs to move up

Fair enough, we missed someone who could get on the ball in that position between midfield and attack. I'll give them credit for dealing with Vik. He got frustrated and played worse for it. We're just lacking those extra few players too give us a chance at the playoffs 😔

I think we’re misusing Palmer. He wants to come deep and have options ahead of him. Vik isn’t a get on a through ball type striker, he wants to wander wide. Can’t believe I’m saying this but maybe Tavares is the best option with Palmer in the 10 role.

Overall we just don’t have enough forward players cos O’Hare can be at both ends of the pitch like Robins likes. Bidwell isn’t forward thinking enough and none of our RWBs really work either so we just don’t have enough players forward.

Dragging Hamer back was fucking criminal though. If Sheaf didn’t have an injury it was a really dumb move.

You're wrong about Vik, he drags wide when the service isn't there through the middle

Maybe. He does love to run into the area from wide though. Ultimately we just don’t commit enough forwards. Fair enough for some games but today, at home, against a team that clearly wasn’t trying to win its criminal.

Agreed, said so in the match thread. For all the good crossing positions we've got 1-2 players in the box.

Sheaf was taken off because he had just been booked for dissent.

Was Waghorn really on the pitch long enough to warrant such low marks/criticism? He didn’t do anything but wasn’t really the reason we didn’t get the win.
