Oh yea, apart from him obviously.
Now MR says even Gyokeres is playing with a knock.
This season has just been a constant fire fight. If we can make it through still in this division then we can hopefully do a hard reset because a lot of weaknesses have been ruthlessly exposed this season both on and off the pitch.

All teams get injuries

We don’t seem to get any minor knocks though - everything we get seems to be months out

edit - unless we do get minor injuries but due to the squad size the players play through them

Not sure you can judge the quality of a medical team purely by how many injuries their squads suffer.

Probably. And if you're carrying a minor knock and playing through the chances of that becoming a major knock increase massively as other structures are having to make up for the weakness caused by the minor injury.

7th smallest squad in the league with 25 , depth not amazing in terms of talent

We have used 23 players in the league this season, only Rotherham & Swansea have used fewer (both 22). With Hyam having subsequently left we've basically only got 22 players & that's including the likes of Kelly who has played 50mins total.

What are our medical team doing or not doing? Are the players warming up properly?

Training injuries to Fadz andCal earlier in the season and then another no contact injury seems to be pointing to something along those lines. My daughter thought that CoH looked cold and pissed off in the warmup before doing his ACL, as if he hadn't warmed up properly. She pointed it out to me before the game.

This is the correct answer. We play with fewer players than most of the league and make fewer subs because we can’t afford a squad of Championship quality players and have to take gambles on players with injury issues.

Are we actually that much worse off in players used than other clubs?

People act like we have 12 players.

Think we are third lowest in the league which includes Kelly for example whose played about 1 half of football in total

I think one club has used 1 player less last time I checked. I mean we sort of do have 12 players. Fairly certain we were bottom of the list last two seasons there or there abouts.

In terms of Championship quality players we do have about 12. It’s why our wage bill is so much below the average.

We aren't bottom of the list this year.

It isn't a small squad causing so many of our injuries.

Last time I checked we still seem to finish quite a lot of games pretty well so I don't know if the fitness / medical team are doing much wrong, esp. given how shallow the squad is. Feels like folks are clutching at straws, trying to find a new stick to beat Robins and co. with, which is a joke given the job they've done.

What we do seem to be is a very fit side (number of times we finish far stronger than the opposition is significant), so whether the consequence of that is our players are more on the edge of an injury?

But you can be fit and still putting your body under enormous strain by overworking it, eventually resulting in injuries.

Even if people are looking at MR for that, it must surely come with a big caveat of him having little choice due to a small budget. He then either has to make the choice of having enough players but the quality isn't quite good enough or having players that are good enough but not enough of them. He can't win either way.

Yes, I'd like to see him use his subs when you can see players are clearly tired and struggling after 60-70 mins but he can argue, especially after the game at the weekend, why he doesn't.
