The way things are looking we end up with Sheaf , O'Hare , Eccles, Burroughs, Palmer(unfortunately) and Bidwell. Vic and Hamer gone because they have a price. All the rest back to their current clubs or surplus to requirements

Where’s all the “Doyle’s shit” come from, he’s quality. Certainly good enough at this level, next season he’ll either be at a promotion contender or a newly promoted premier league club. Depends on what Man City want. Panzo and Rose are good enough as well just error prone, with Panzo he should grow out of it as he has time and the potential. But Rose it will stay with him but on his day he is a solid CB

I agree, I think all three are decent at this level. It’s just frustrating when all three drop a bollock or have a bad game at the same time.

Agreed, but we dont have the depth to rotate which makes the Hyam sale so frustrating. But that’s done now, we should have replaced then Im sure we will now. Hopefully we bring in a beast who can boss it like McFadz does.

We need a new owner if we’re ever going to move beyond where we are. Robins has done the best he possible can, but we can’t go any further on this budget without a huge slice of luck.
Pretty much that, but we’re assuming King will be different.

I saw one of our fans over the summer on twitter unironically arguing that he thought Dabo was the best right back in the championship - let that sink in

The injuries have caught up with Dabo, there was a moment in the week where he tried to sprint and it just didn’t happen not sure if it was a mental thing or fitness.

Hang on, so a game that sees Allen come on, make some nice passes, stretch their defence, link with midfield and Gyokeres, increase our tempo, offers movement Wrexham couldn't cope with is the trigger for him to be dumped by many on this thread, while Panzo gets away Scott free despite showing once again he can get bullied while being unable to head the ball?

This board does like sticking to easily won first impressions, whatever the evidence in front of them is...
Exactly.

If Allen had started instead of Kelly I believe we would have won.

I know the defence was culpable but a stronger midfield would not have surrendered so much ball to Wrexham

Godden is always injured, we can't afford to waste money on wages of players who miss so many games.

Think with this is people forget about them when demanding new signings. Drains of budget.

Some games we have had Moore. Walker, waghorn and kane on the bench. How much of the budget do they all take?

There’s always going to be off form players and injuries though. Find me a Championship squad without them. The idea that we can only sign players who never get injured and are always in top form and are all of the quality we want is insane. Even clubs with more money than God can’t do that and the lower your budget the more gambles on players who might be past it, or might not make it, or have a history of injuries you have to take.

Would be an interesting comparison though of our first XI wages vs our back up XI wages. Considering the consensus seems to be that our squad is too small and most of the back up XI needed aren't good enough for Championship football, I bet there's a big chunk of already small budget being wasted on our bench/reserves.

Agree regards Doyle don’t think Man City would sell but if possible I’d ask the question in the summer.

It shows that a massive clearout is on the cards, but it's likely to be in the summer rather than now. Can't see any teams wanting to take on the contracts of players even if we let them leave for free.

Even if the takeover happens, I think the amount of money available will be pretty minimal so any business we do will likely be due to a sale, probably Gyok.

Unfortunately due to lack of investment in the summer we’ve been unable to start the clear out back then.

The following need to move on starting with a load in this Jan window (presuming takeover announced):

Moore (awful)
Rose (not consistent)
Dabo (he isn’t championship quality)
Dacosta (not a footballer)
Hilsner (lol)
Kelly (great servant but can’t cut it anymore)
Waghorn (unbelievable waste of wages)
Walker (Is a lower league player)
Godden (waste of a wage due to injuries)

In the summer Panzo, Doyle and the new arsenal kid will go back to their clubs. Vik will probably get a big move to a top flight club in England or Europe. COH won’t be fit for the start of next season and is now becoming injury prone.

Massive rebuild is an understatement and this window is the start of this if that is to happen. We need 4 quality perm signings in Jan and then a load more in the summer.
Yeah I suspect this summer could potentially be the biggest number of ins and outs we've ever seen if Robins gets his way. We could almost have an entirely new first team starting next season.

No harm in asking but even if Man City would sell, which i doubt, I can't see him signing full time for us unless we got promoted.

He's no way near ready for the league above though - positional awareness is poor, and he goes to pieces of he makes a mistake or two.

I honestly don’t see it with Doyle. I’m sure he’ll be very good once he’s older and he’s learned how to defend a bit and his passing range is pretty good. But I’m not seeing a Premier League defender there right now. But he is only 18.

He will be 20 years old in October

As many have said, I agree apart from Allen and Godden. Good squad players until we can replace with better.

They need better players around them and they are good enough.

We have a big enough squad the problem is many of them aren’t ready or ever going to be good enough to play in the first team they are just numbers.

Suppose there's a clear out and if we're lucky a 50% success rate with new signings - that leaves us in a relegation battle. We had to lose both Shipley and Jones to get Kasey - 2 out 1 in doesn't cut it. We couldn't even register a full squad of players with the EFL. Get off the players' backs...

Worrying that Robins has said the wage bill won’t go up under King because it’s got to match turnover. Feels like that’s what’s really holding us back.

So how does ffp work regarding turnover our gates are now polishing 20000 I reckon in the top half of the division at least.
