Just watched the first one last night after finally giving up on the utter tripe that is Gangs of London after 5 a bit episodes and already I’m engaged fully.

Next one out tonight on NowTV isn’t it?

Relief. Never thought I’d come across someone else who thought Gangs of London was absolute dog shit.

Another! Clint!

Yes.

I gave up Gangs of London after the first 35 seconds. 😂 Far too violent for me.

With Gangs of London, it was the bloke absolutely screaming before they dropped him off the top of the building. I couldn't be doing with all that. 😂

I don't mind violence, but found that excruciating.

Heard good things about The last of us , but not really into gaming so do I need a background knowledge of the game or can I just watch it ?
My fave game of all time (Football Manager a v close 2nd) due to the in-depth character portrayals and story arch.

However, no need to have played the game Daz, just watch and enjoy, hopefully it stays the same quality as episode one!

Yeah, I know nothing about the game at all and found the show very easy to pick up

Being familiar with the game was almost a drawback with the first episode as it was almost entirely a direct lift from the first game, including some of the dialogue. I hope it starts to tell its own story as it goes on

Haha! It's absolute nonsense isn't it?
I love a gangster film and a bit of brutal violence but this is just cliched shite and I couldn't buy into a single character.

I also couldn't get past the posh voice, for no apparent reason, of the lad from Peaky Blinders or the fact that the big biscuit head from Teachers was meant to be one of the main men.

Fuck knows how you did both series!!

It's the same with fairy tales.

They start with "once upon a time" and I think "hang on, I've heard this one before."

I read that episode 3 is brilliant and concentrates on a minor character called Bill in the game. Never played the game, so not sure who that is. Near feature length too.

Oh that sounds good, Bill appears briefly in the game and has a whole backstory hinted at so that's very promising. If they are sticking tightly to the game plot it has a few other characters and stories the show can expand on so that allows them to fill in their own blanks as well as pay fan service at the same time, perfect

Okay, so just watched the second episode of The Last of Us and did really enjoy it.....but ....

One thing bothered me. And that was that the "monsters" looked ridiculous. Are they like that in the game? It honestly looked to me like they just sent people to the costume department and they stuck a latex mask over their heads. To me it just looked ludicrous, because they all had normal bodies but then a big fat helmet stuck on their heads. That's the way it appeared. Looked so fake and unrealistic to me. I am sure that close up, they look good, but from a distance it almost looked like kids putting on big silly masks at a birthday party.

🤷

Everything else I thought, was really good.

Now that's from the game. I just checked.

I think I know what's bothering me now. It's the proportion.

With the above character it all looks perfectly proportioned. The TV monsters just looked all out of proportion to me, because the heads seemed so absolutely huge.

Like I say, maybe it's just me and it's shame to nit-pick, because I enjoyed everything else and the reviews are fab.

Not seen it yet, Otis. Will watch it tonight if I get chance. Is it a feature length episode or just an hour?

An hour

It is very good, don't get me wrong. I did really enjoy it.

Just didn't find the monsters believable. Would still recommend it for sure

Anyone seen Invasion on Apple TV? I quite liked it, although a bit slow.

Yeah I know. It just didn't look right to me, because it was if they just stuck a fancy dress shop mask over their heads.

1899 if only for the soundtracks at the end. Well thought out drama though with multiple language characters

Woman of the dead is a great well thought Austrian drama

The glory is a proper Korean series - much better than that that ridiculous thing I can’t even remember the name of

Really enjoyed the second episode of Last of Us, flew by. Already a fairly major difference from the game with the tendril thing replacing the airborne spores which meant I wasn't expecting the way they got Tess, which was horrifying.

Started Kaleidoscope on Netflix last night. Interesting concept, everyone gets a different watch order for the episodes apart from the last one. Can’t remember the colour I watched but it was OK, will all depend on how the series works as a whole though.
