guess airborne spores aren't a great visual for tv

Yeah, that & they didn't want the characters faces being covered by gas masks all the time as it would detract from the (so far excellent) acting.

The casting so far has been bang on, apparently the voice actors for Joel and Ellie from the game have some kind of cameo role in this at some point too which is a nice touch.

Bella Ramsey is excellent isn't she. She was fab in Game of Thrones too.

Just checked though and she is actually 19. Doesn't look it at all does she.

Another one who couldnt get on with Gangs Of London, watched the first episode, went back for the 2nd, decided to start watching the 3rd and lost interest in it. I mentioned it previously, but Broadchurch, just completed season 2, Tennant, Coleman Whittaker all stellar again, backed up by the top heavy Eve Myles. Kept me guessing right to the end.

A Confession (ITVX). It's an oldish one (2019). True story about a real life double murder in Swindon.

It's like a procedural but factual.

Really enjoyed it.

Watched the first two episodes of the Last Of Us again last night. Good job Sarah didn't eat those cookies from next door. It's in the flour!

Joel on the Atkins stopped him being a big mushroom head too, love that there are little things like that dropped in for people to go back and spot. Just noticed that there's an official podcast for each episode like they did for Chernobyl too so that's my Tuesday listens in place for the next few weeks

Absolutely. Particularly for those of us who have never played the game and are new to this world. There were so many things I missed the first time.

Okay, so just watched the second episode of The Last of Us and did really enjoy it.....but ....

One thing bothered me. And that was that the "monsters" looked ridiculous. Are they like that in the game? It honestly looked to me like they just sent people to the costume department and they stuck a latex mask over their heads. To me it just looked ludicrous, because they all had normal bodies but then a big fat helmet stuck on their heads. That's the way it appeared. Looked so fake and unrealistic to me. I am sure that close up, they look good, but from a distance it almost looked like kids putting on big silly masks at a birthday party.

🤷

Everything else I thought, was really good.

I've played the game but yet to watch the TV show.

The main monsters are called clickers, mainly because they make a clicking sound. Basically they are 'infected' humans. They are blind but have very good hearing.

Completely missed both of those things, stuff like that always passes me by :ROFLMAO: I'll give the podcast a go, might have more chance of keeping up with the detail

Only thing worrying me at the moment is it does have potential to go in a Walking Dead direction and just be the same thing season after season but I guess worry about that if it happens

What I also like about the glowing reception to the show is that it also increases the chances of them going back to make a third game if they weren't already. It's such a great world they created so the more of it the merrier

I'm not a gamer at all, but my son does have a PS5, so am more than inclined to give the first game a go.

All time top 5 for me, I even ended up buying it again remastered on PS4 like a sucker although I draw the line at a third time with the rebuilt PS5 version. I love it but not £60 love it!

Watching 'Silent Witness' at the minute.
It has 26 series and the missus wanted to start at Series 10 so she "Doesn't miss anything" WTAF!!
It's from 2006 so, as you would imagine, its not quite HD.. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe I'll start a TLOU thread, seems to be a few people watching. can keep all the spoilers in there
I wasn’t massively gripped by the first episode but enjoyed the 2nd. I think I’ll be sticking with it.
I really enjoyed the game(s) and thought this would therefore be shite.

Just started watching Extraordinary on Disney Plus. A new comedy. I really like it.

It's about a woman living in a world where she is the only person who is not a super hero. It's very funny in places.

Had really good reviews too

I've just started watching Auf, Wierdersehen Pet. It came out way before i was born and I remember the re-booted version set in Cuba or somewhere like that?

It's pretty good, even if it is of it's time. You don't really see many shows about male friendship nowadays.

great show. The reboot wasn't too bad but the original is an all time classic

whatever happened to Jimmy Nail. he was pretty much the biggest name on TV then seemed to totally disappear. Guess he made his money and retired

Only a teaser but really looking forward to the Luther film. Out in cinemas next month and Netflix in March

Didn’t realise there was a film coming. Love a bit of Luther.

Used to have a Lexus 4x4 I called Luther. When people asked I said Lex Luthor but in reality it was because it was big and black.

Pretty sure it's been in the works for a while, but maybe has been held up. Think Idris Elba is keen to do more as well, so hopefully it does well
