Why didn't another championship club pick up Kane?

Why did Norton-Cuffy leave one championship club to go to a higher placed one, while Kane had no takers at this level and had to drop down?

I'm surprised Burnley, Sheff Utd and Norwich weren't queuing up for him

Good win in the end, but 1st half was gash.

- Wilson had little to do, and what he did, he did without any drama or worries.
- Panzo was shocking to begin with, but to give some credit to him, he held his defensive game together and didn't get sent off. Must be reminded that he's a defender, and he should only try simple, sideways passes...too many balls given away by him.
- McNally had an awesome 1st game...pretty much flawless performance.
- Doyle had a decent if not spectacular game...no errors as far as i can remember.
- Norton-Cuffy...hmmm still not sure about this guy. Looks suspect defending, and i'm still waiting for the skillful speedster i saw on his youtube video, when he looked like Cafu.
- Bidwell...solid as always.
- Sheaf always seems to start poorly with loose passes, but improves as the game progresses, and occasionally looks like a top player.
- Hamer is a player i would have happily sold pre season. He just seemed to have lost it, but he's been a revelation this year, post the Birmingham sending off, and scored another cracking goal.
- Allen is the type of player i generally like ie industrious hard worker, but he wasn't in this game at all, and when he did get the ball in the final third, i never felt confident that he would put a great ball in for Gyokeres. Poor today.
- Palmer is a kind of enigma. Should be a cracking player, but there's something in him which doesn't push himself to do more. Was busy around the box, and scored a decent goal, but can't help feeling that he was just coasting.
- Gyokeres is just a top player in this division. Even in this game, where he wasn't at his very best, he still had assists for both goals, and tested the keeper on a couple of occasions. Let's enjoy him whilst we still can.

He’s useless this is pointless - you seriously think he looks good, would you sign him?

So I assume robins is clueless by keep playing him?
Lack of options might account for it.

Don't forget Allen was in the bomb squad at the start of last season, quite how he's gone from bomb squad to teachers pet though is baffling, it's certainly not due to his contribution on the pitch, but I guess MR must see something in him that I and plenty of others don't.

Robins: "If Palmer gets into goal-scoring positions he's gonna score, because his technique is brilliant, but I do think that is the first time that he has ever headed the ball". :ROFLMAO:

I keep asking but you have no answer.

In fact I'm amazed Kane wasn't named in the world cup squad given Southgate's penchant for a right back

You don't know if there were any championship clubs in for kane or not.

When Eccles is fit and Dabo is back from his illness, do you think Norton-Cuffy will remain first choice RWB?

Also Robins, "That's the first time we've been able to replace Dominic Hyam". Not a view all on here will share, I am sure. MR seems desperate to have a dig about that whenever he can as it really p'd him off (but he couldn't whilst SISU were in charge)!

Interesting comments from MR re the importance of a positive atmosphere from the crowd. And how when it’s ‘flat’ or negative it impacts the players, especially the younger ones.

Fully agree too tbf. Atmosphere was better today - winning helps - but was probably the core support there today who generally aren’t as negative as the day trippers.

Robins:
- They sat behind the ball, tried to make it difficult
- Praised their player (missed who)
- Kicking Vik all over and trying to take his shirt
- Didn’t make a good deal of chances first half, they had nothing really
- We got after them and made it difficult for them to play forward
- Ended up winning the ball wide, Hamer showed quality to stick it in the net brought them out
- Brilliant goal for the second, might be the first time Kasey has ever headed the ball
- Brilliant win, been a bit negativity around and that’s not how it’s been. When it’s difficult we need supporters more. Need them vocal. When they get that players will grow, when they don’t the shrink that’s how people are. When it’s difficult we need them (the fans) it’s imperative we’ve got some young players who need that support not just from me but from the standa
- Mich needed win today and gets us back on track and on an even keel
- Was impressed with everybody but specifically about McNally was really strong and didn’t miss a header. Used to playing in a back four which showed at times but majority of things he did everything really well.
- They stayed in shape, it was a bit laboured. When we upped the tempo second half there was only going to be one winner.
- Godden Eccles and Maguire coming on for some game time was the icing on the cake. Maguire needs to do a bit more to get on the pitch same as Wilson Esbrand
- Impossible to improve without selling someone. You can’t keep everyone together and build.

Couldn’t hear for a bit cos was being spoken too 😠

I’ve said before the infrastructure is imperative because you can’t bring better players into an environment that hasn’t had anything spent on it. And that might have to be the first thing you see. Got to be incremental, or the wheels come off. Supporters need to be patient but know that it’s in good hands and it’s moving forward. Dean Austin come in and I’ve had to work with him which I’m not used to doing but once that gets off the ground (missed a bit)
Doug is good, gonna drive things. That’s what we want.

Tbf what do you expect when we have been on such a poor run. Only 1 win in 9 before today. A run like that is always going to affect the atmosphere

Gael Bigiaramana went to Newcastle - a premier league club - when he cane back I said he’d end up at Rugby. I over estimated his ability. If you honestly believe he’s capable of competing in this league you are nuts. He is out his depth

Well according to Rotherham fans he more than competed in this league.

And Robins obviously thought so too.

You can keep going with this opinion but all available evidence points to you being wrong. Again.

No he refused to celebrate

‘lets invent another story’

Not for one second saying I am a professional football player. But whenever I scored in Sunday league I didn’t celebrate. I was more angry if anything. As if it was “that’s what you fucking get” and annoyed it didn’t happen earlier.

Me and my dad weren’t sure if it was a goal though as it was so muted. Looking at the lino.

Agree, people are nervous what to expect. Things will be calmer now we have won and broke the run of poor results. Plus People will have seen positive influence of McNally at the back and better calibre of sub available. Onwards and upwards.

Kane only landing a L1 move (rightfully) isn’t the surprise. The big surprise is Waghorn moving to another championship club.

Why do you always do this? You need someone to say is shit. Is this how you justify your absolutely pointless existence?

What does Kenny Jackett think?

On the ballboys, one behind our goal second half needs to learn to chill out when we’re winning.
