Most of said City fans have missed that the summer plan was clearly to sell Hamer and for Palmer to play alongside O’Hare who would complement him. Best laid plans and all that

I don't get the Palmer critics, though there are some drawbacks to his game, undoubtedly.

Yep. “Great until the final third” was the general consensus. “Poor final ball” etc. It was obvious we needed someone who does what Palmer does and now it’s used as a stick to beat him with.

I'm with you... in Palmer I finally see a player who can do things defenders done expect and that's a bad thing? I think he's starting to come in to his own now after getting fit, he's getting in to the right areas so I'd hope to see more!

There’s no doubt if Palmer plays to his potential and for 90 minutes there is a top class player there, he’s still a bit hit & miss but when he does those powerful surges through the middle it’s wow, MRs job to get more consistency out of him.

100% agree but I think we'd be daft to write him off while he searches for that consistency which it feels like some people are.

One criticism levelled at him was that he couldn't start two games in a row.

He's started 6 consecutive matches now so clearly his fitness levels are where they should be now and hopefully he can kick on.

Still think he flags a bit after 70 minutes or so but in fairness the last few games he’s been in a bitty team be interesting when we have all our injuries back and some new hopefully better signings as to how he fares, he’s potentially a class act for sure.
