Next Four Games (5 Viewers)

No reason why we can't get 10-12 points in the next four games. Rotherham (A), Sunderland (H), Preston (A) and Huddersfield (A). That will surely put us in the Top 6.
Preston is a bogey ground, so maybe we take a draw there. Even the next 3 after those games are kind (Blackpool, Wigan & Hull).

WDDW (8 points) then 7 from 9 on the next 3.

That will give us 15 from 7 and be bang in the mix ahead of the final push, but some tougher games (especially away) at the end of the season. Still think we'll fall just short and finish around 8th which is a terrific season all in, especially with the uncertainty, the start we had, the injuries and squad depth, it's a minor miracle we're not cut adrift at the bottom.

7 points from each of the next 3 groups of 4 games
that puts us 63 from 43

will need a really strong last 4 games then against tough teams, where we would need 3 wins, then anything can happen

I cant see any reason why we cant win next 8! Go into every game expecting a win.

Our away form has to pick up though...narrow defeats at baggies and burnley. Performances havnt been too bad. I like the going more direct approach, and packing the midfield.

We’ve won 3 away games all season and you think we’ll probably win our next 3. I love your optimism but perhaps take off the sky blue tinted glasses.

7 would be great, won’t be far off top six if we do that.

Only four games against teams above us for the rest of the season I saw someone say today. If we can keep people fit and firing there’s a real chance for a decent run.

Momentum in this league is everything.

Ingredients are there..strikers should be brimming with confidence now. And the defence has been shored up with the arrival of McNally and McFadz back.

You could put this same kind of post up at any point in the season. The Championship is notoriously unpredictable with teams constantly drifting in and out of form, often against most people's predictions. Its a cliche but it really is best to take each game at a time and see where you're at after each. Once you start looking forward too much the football Gods will almost inevitably bring you down to Earth with a bump. On that basis I'll say we'll take between 4 and 7 points from these games :)

The first three will not be easy. But best thing is to take one game at a time and not get ahead of ourselves.

66 is our record 2nd tier total

our current PPG takes us to 62
if we take the PPG ignoring the first 10 games when we hadnt got our season started , takes us to 67 which would be our 2nd tier record

Anything lower than 62 given our 2 really bad runs would be a massive disappointment
But given that looks like a strong top half finish is probably par

Think we’ll get 11 points. Draw against Sunderland, beat the rest then get a bonus point for a first ever league win at Deepdale

If we manage to beat Preston away, I'm buying a lottery ticket that night.

I've spent too many grim days watching us get beat up there...... fingers crossed for a change in fortunes.
The season we beat Preston away will be the season we get promoted, hopefully we break that hoodoo soon.

Get you bet on before it’s out of reach
I actually started a thread just before the World Cup, pointing out what I believed to be fairly generous odds on the City to finish in top 6/playoff places, I actually placed a fairly hefty wager on a top 6 finish then 🤔 tho TBF our subsequent drop in form since the WC proved everyone who said ‘the odds weren’t actually that generous’ correct.
But I’m happy to be still in with a shout.

Best only based on 3 poonts for a win.
With 3 for a win 66/67 total would be 82

You go into every game expecting a win?!

I go into every game thinking “I’ll take a draw”.

Unbridled optimism is the order of the day. Until the whistle blows at kick-off, and then a re-think is often called for. PUSB. 3-1 this afternoon, Vik to be a bit less profligate in front of goal and Palmer chipping in with one.
