Fun statistic on match writeup on BBC website. (5 Viewers)

Just reading the BBC website's verdict on our game and saw this which I thought was both quite random and also quite interesting.

"Coventry ended a run of four straight away league defeats. It also means the Sky Blues have not lost in their last 12 games against promoted teams - a run that includes nine wins stretching back five seasons."

It could be argued that we're an established Championship team and should put these teams to bed but this stat takes us back to League 1 times and our promotion season.

Don’t think it does

4 in the first season
6 in the second
4 in this one so far

Don't doubt you as I was just going on the BBC comment about dating back 5 seasons. But it wouldn't be the first (or last) time a BBC reporter has screwed facts up.

The only stats I religiously follow are goals, assists, yellow and red cards and GPG ratios etc. I have a bit of a fixation with them; however the form stats and player telemetry etc is a bit beyond my brains ability to compute them. 🧠 ❗️

I think assists is a largely meaningless stat.

It would seem like an incredible run. But, could the reporter have meant to say that we have been unbeaten in the last 12 away matches against promoted teams?

And also completely made up as we lost 2-0 to Hull at home last season. If they mean away games then I think it's 10 going back to Forest Green Rovers in 2018.

An assists can be anything from a brilliant run and defence splitting pass to ball deflected off someone to a player who runs the length of the pitch and scores.
a goal could be off your arse whilst you're looking the other way, or it can be a 40 yard screamer - both still count - same as assists in my book
