I wonder to what extent "Ability to spot a good shithouser' features on the person spec for the currently advertised Senior Scouting roles?
After we won the FA Cup in 87 I think the Scout might have said 'What about that guy Speedie at Chelsea? He's a nasty piece of work...'
And the rest is history...........

We’ve surely played them more than 17 times. Seems very little.
I would imagine we’ve probably played each other 17 times since the Premier league was formed in 1992, which according to Sky Sports and many others was the birth of football.

You sound pretty entitled if think we should definitely be winning on Saturday

Sunderland are a decent side who have adjusted to the Championship very well and have a prolific striker. If we win I will be more than happy.

Their prolific striker is injured and their own fans are admitting their performances are dropping due to fatigue. I expect a win, but it will be tight.

And a quality manager that plays great attacking footy.

I'll take a draw but a win would make things very very exciting

Looking very promising - pretty much sold out to 23 and sales behind goal. Unlikely lots of on the gate tickets. You’d think 22-23000

Block 3 has gone and 2/1 only have 5 seats left. Clearly loads looking to sit near the away fans and unable to buy in Singers 🤣

Think we'll do well to get over 18k city but forget the Sunderland thing, early kick off live on sky not to shabby that being said hopefully push towards the 20 mark with sales tomorrow and on the day

What's our biggest home attendance this season? What ever it is we should exceed it imo, there is a buzz about which I haven't felt for a while.

Don't understand the hate for Mowbray. He is a bit old school and I can't see him doing a West Brom again. His only major error with us was thinking he could attract better players than we could afford and putting his mate in charge of recruitment. Has had a very solid managerial record and has always played attractive attacking football. Usually his second half slumps means he is not a top manager, but has done ok at every club he has been at. Middlesborough and Blackburn let him go because they did not get promoted. He jumped ship here because we were seriously underfunded and our best players left for clubs higher up the football ladder.

I find him a likeable and respectful man and his teams are good to watch. He actually stood up and admitted he was failing with us and fell on his sword.

Completely disagree - He had no Plan B and should have took us up with that side

Even when it was going well I never got the impression he properly took to being here, always came across like he was doing us a favour him even being here in the first place and that we were his stepping stone back into football, then did one when the going got tough

Don’t ‘hate’ him but certainly think he’s a bloody overrated manager
