Can't remember anyone hating Money (though I have probably just missed something), but if it is Ince, Shaw or Robins then it looks like each of them has someone on this forum ready to start the "get them out" bandwagon rolling... I hope, whoever is selected, we give them a decent chance to sort this team out.

Both Robins and Ince have been in comparative decline in recent years from promising starts.

Robins did well at Rotherham, but that was back in 2009; after which his record at Barnsley was indifferent and he left under somewhat of a cloud. Ince did well at both Macclesfield and in his first stint at MK Dons, but did less well at Blackburn and in his second stint at MK Dons and Notts County - both of whom were comparatively well funded compared to their peers.

Money did well at Walsall with regards record and the nurturing of talent - remember - and went on to do well at Luton, who were very much a team in turmoil at the time.

As such, for me, it's Money - his recent record is good, and he's been with clubs who's profile is closely matched to ours.

That stated, I'd be happy with he security of any permanent manager, and will get behind them fully. With a run of games, we could be back in contention by Christmas, and that's got to be the focus from now on

He didn't do well at Luton, he was fired for failing to get them promoted and became a target of the crowd's boos every game. At Walsall, he had the best squad in the division. Who on earth at L1 level hires a failed BSP manager?!?

Anybody with a brain picks Robins out of those 3. Done an absolutely fantastic job at Rotherham and my Barnsley supporting mates were gutted to see him leave (of his own accord I hasten to add) Barnsley. People forget that Barnsley were everyones favourites for relegation when Robins took over.

Ince keeps getting sacked in his last 3 jobs for poor performances as well as falling out with his own players. Shaw isn't ready for the step up.

Robins is also a striker. We have a defender and a defensive midfielder on the coaching staff so would be nice to have that aspect that we're not very good at alongside them on the training pitch.

I think I'm warming to Robins, and the point you make about him being a former forward is a great one.

Frankly I'm puzzled by the 3 mentioned. None fit what I would consider for the managers job at this football club and at THIS time.

Out of 55+ candidates (we were told) these are the 3 favourites for the job? Mind blowing.

Now I'm realising (if true) just why we are where we are.

If true it would seem SISU are gambling yet again with the existance of our club and the 421m they have invested so far.
How many on here even had these three in their prefered list?

We need something more special and inspiring right now and any of those appintments would not do that. Many on here want Wise because he is that inspiring presence we need, at least short term to get this place buzzing again. Wise is not my first choice either but I see the benefits of such an appointment for crowd increases and a sense of uplift alone that would have brought to us at a much needed time. I certainly would have Wise ahead of Ince too. Perhaps it's come down to finances? Though I can't beleive one managers salary can't be found for the right guy out of 55+ applications.

The only way for any one of the 3 mentioned, if appointed to get this club and attendances up would be by winning games immediately. That's enormous pressure, something someone like Wise would have been given more generous leeway on I feel.

Be that as it may. I hope sincerely that I'm proved absolutely wrong.

Another member of the footballing world Ince has fallen out with. Ferguson got rid of him because (in his own words) he was a "big time Charlie" (something the clubs he's managed would agree with) and a "bottler."

They hate each other.

Every manager we have been linked with, whether it is Robins, Ince, Black, Money, Wise, Brown, Shaw, Wilder, Blackwell etc, has been meet with some opposition. The really polished candidates are out of our league. You need to let Curbishley go!

Sure. But what I find impressive about Money is his knack of making teams competitive. He tends to move struggling teams away from relegation, and higher-calibre teams into the playoffs. What's more, he was the coach during Roland's effective spell as CCFC manager, and has a strong reputation as a former academy manager (damn useful considering our reliance on the kids).

Add all that together and you have a man who is more likely than not to get more from this underperforming team.

I'm thinking that what the club needs is a bit of a figure head as much as a good manager. The clubs at such a low ebb we need inspiration. Hell even Roy Keane would have had the place buzzing! You can't guarantee anything but short term this club needs a shot in the arm quickly.

Personally if those 3 are the candidates then Robbins should be clear favourite. Whoever it is needs to win immediately and keep winning more than he loses or draws. Top 6 is a minimum requirement THIS season for a playoff place. Not so sure I'd stake that on Paul Ince. Hell I'd rather drag Strachan back here and know at least we would be organised and I'd have more confidence on acheiving some results!

But remember McGinnity went that route when he sacked Black in favour of the glitz of Peter Reid - Mr "Instant Success". Indeed, the best two managers we have had since relegation have been relatively low-key.

The problem with a lot of these 'galvanising' figures is that they are bringing the reputation from their playing days, which counts for nothing in management. The only way the players can be galvanised is with good management, and the only way the fans can be galvanised is with good performances.

It is all more random than we really want to believe.

someone mentioned Curbishley in this thread, and i may be wrong but did'nt Waggottt or Fisher once work with him at Charlton .

If they did and they wanted someone to come in and rebuild the club , surely curbs did exactly that at Charlton, so could he be a dark horse.
I know i'm clutching at straws and we certainly could'nt afford him , but he has been sat at home for the last 4 years not earning much money, so could need the work !!!

i'd choose robins! almost got rotherham to promotion after a 17 point deduction and kept a poor barnsley side up last season! he also used to score goals for fun as a player.
ince is terrible. had 1 good managerial spell and that's it, will be devastated if him!
and money sounds a top manager but played as a defender. I'd choose robins, money then ince. wish wise was on there though!
