Was watching the Chris Rock Netflix special the other day and he was saying something along the lines of if Russia invaded the US half the population would welcome the Russians as liberator’s. Think there’s a few on here that would do the same, while calling anyone who resisted a traitor.
suppose in the "old days" it would have been the left half, now it would be the right half :) For someone obsessed with "Satanism" and the evil of woke politics shouldn't think putin would touch America with a bargepole

Bizarre that you're cheerleading these escalations, pity the poor people that will suffer from the affects of these, Ukrainian and Russian.

Strange too that you're posting on the one hand that Russia is on the run yet on the other we're seeing this, cognitive dissonance?

You're quite happy for Ukrainians to suffer at the hands of Russia so please do not lecture me from your high horse. What exactly am I cheerleading?

And Russia is on the run. I don't know how much more evidence of that you need.

It seems the only person gloating about people suffering is you.

Innocent people are suffering on both sides and I’m baffled that you seem to want to escalate it further.

Im sure you can understand that the conflict is far more complex than Ukraine = Good and Russia = Bad?

I'm not gloating about people suffering. Well, apart from Putin and the murdering, raping aspects of his army. Quite happy for them to suffer.

I suppose you think Russia was provoked too 🥱

Sounds like Xi's meeting with Putin went as badly as expected for the latter and Xi has him over a barrel.

Putin really is a master strategist isn't he. He/Russia is so utterly weak now, he's destroyed their standing on the world stage.

Were you at the meeting?

I'm not actually, I want the war to finish unlike you Captain Darling
Everyone wants the war to end, your indifference seems to be to those that don’t think it should end in a Russian victory. The reality is that a Russian victory will be as dangerous for the people of Ukraine as the war. The Ukrainian people (as is evident from their response to the invasion) are not going to sit back quietly under the rule of a Putin installed puppet government. There is no way the violence will end just because Putin gets his way. The only route to peace, freedom and security in Ukraine is from a Russian defeat and retreat back to their own internationally recognised borders. Borders Russia itself agreed to protect. I really don’t know how you can’t be understanding that.

Interested to see you elaborate on this point. The bigger picture is?
I don’t agree but I assume it would be

Russia have a legitimate historic right to parts of Ukraine and have been encouraged in this by the lack of worldwide disagreement to their actions in crimea. Many Russians will have family in Ukraine and vice versa.

During war there is only shit and more shit. There are extremes of course holocaust and Japanese war camps as opposed to our prisoner of war camps but anyone that thinks there’s a humane way to fight and that everyone on each side is holy and righteous or that every man on each side and evil and depraved is mistaken

War is shit

Shit for those ordered to kill people by their leaders

Shit for those who have to defend their towns and houses and families from those ordered to kill people

The answer is in diplomacy and discussion and will eventually lead to this but when and how this can be done without giving the aggressor any reward for their illegal actions is incredibly difficult

The leader/s who decided in this action in Russia are to blame for all that’s happening in my opinion but war makes people do things they wouldn’t normally do

Fair points but without an acknowledgement that a diplomatic solution is the only hope for peace by the Western leaders the war will carry on and on.

And how do you get to a diplomatic solution? You need both sides to think it’s for the best. Which still doesn’t explain your support for Russia.

The diplomacy will be happening and despite my feelings towards working for peace in all things and that often this is harder than war I fear it would be destructive to talk peace publicly for any western leader

Putin has given an opportunity to show the mature path on many occasions not least his comments in the last couple of days.

We really are heading to hell on a handcart as a race I mean

Of course everyone wants peace, but you can't have peace at any cost. That just gives aggressors licence to continually start wars so that they get what they want as everyone else caves in for the sake of peace.

We've had this before. Chamberlain and his 'peace in our time'. Literally in this conflict with Crimea.

It amazes me that some people can't see that aiming for peace with a person like Putin is futile. If you got peace now all you'd be doing is slightly delaying the death and destruction for a short amount of time before he starts the next offensive.

If there is to be any hope of long standing peace in the area, Putin cannot be around. Of course, it might just be the next psychopathic despot takes over but at least there is a chance they won't be. Putin will not change, and this shit will carry on for as long as he's around.

It appears that not every poster wants peace unfortunately…

Yes because that's what that says isn't it.

Your mate meanwhile literally said to let Putin crack on with it and do as he pleases with Ukraine.

Personally I think the chance of a negotiated peace is all but gone.

We will fight till the last Ukrainian or the Russian people will overthrow Putin.

Neither is imminent.
What a crazy fucked up shit world we live in.
Is this really all we have to show for thousands of years of civilisation?

Disagree, it’ll end around the negotiating table - probably with Ukraine making concessions, especially if the Republicans get in.

There is no support for Russia
