No MOTM. The 'best of the worst' would probably be Wilson for preventing an even bigger humiliation

Normally I think people are too harsh after a defeat, but it's hard to be positive about much there. Dabo at least showed for the ball, put a couple of decent crosses in, drove into the penalty area and maybe should have scored. Gyokeres had one tremendous shot, Sheaf (after a truly abysmal first half) got better second, Wilson-Esbrand for 15 minutes looked excellent going forward, Howley seemed to carry the ball better than his previous appearances.

It's all small wins though.

Wilson 3: Looking forward to the day we replace him. Credit to him for the number of clean sheets but a complete freak.
Dabo 4 Back to the usual Dabo.
McNally 4: Disappointing. Really poor.
McFadzean 4
Doyle 4: He'll be hoping the Man City scouts weren't there.
Bidwell 4: Not much to add. Standard Bidwell performance.
Hamer 5: Outclassed. Stepped up a little in the second half.
Sheaf 5
Eccles 4: bullied
Godden 3: Back to back howlers. I blamed him for the Wigan game and he came on and scored against a tired, poor Blackpool side. Stoke wouldn't have him in their squad and I'd be surprised if he made it in the squad of any team at this level.
Gyokeres 4: Like others, bullied. Was poor for Sweden but scored/assisted.

Robins: Near full fit squad. Good pitch. 2 week break. Hope he just comes out says it like it is rather than make up the previous excuses.

Stoke: Outclassed us. A squad full of players paid 2/3x what we are paying. Will be up there next season if they get it together. Their fans were disappointing considering.

JWB: Not good enough. Fault for at least one goal and shite going forward.
Howley: Why bring him on?

Esbrand 4 you all did leave didn’t you
He was ok on the ball especially for the first 20 minutes, but was terrible off it and contributed to Stokes last 2 goals and other chances they had in the last 10-15 minutes.

That must be amongst the worst performances of thebseason, absolutely shambolic. I think id probably have Sheaf and Wilson rated a bit higher than most have here (for some great saves in the first and half and a strong 2nd half performance) but we were so crap in general today. So many poor, misplaced passes, a lack of any fluidity going forward in the 1st half and awful defending. There was also a lack of anyone really leading on the pitch today i thought, nobody hollering about the utter shite occuring.

I would rate Sheaf a bit higher but the first half was just so uniformly terrible I think it caps anyone who started at 5/10. Most concerning is that McF has been hauled off at half time twice since he came back from injury.

We carried a threat from out wide in the second half which was almost entirely down to him.
or down to Stoke taking their foot off the pedal? Could have lost 6 nil easily

Every time he plays he has a first 15 when he has some positive movement. He’s then easily snuffed out. Off the ball he’s utterly clueless - there’s zero attention or discipline. It’s like he just goes asleep

Wilson - 5 - at a minimum stopped it from being utterly embarrassing

Dabo - 3 - Marked down for telling the supporters to calm down, then proceeding to lose control of the ball and as a result they nearly scored, should be focusing on his performance rather than what the support is doing.

McNally - 3 - One of them days, very poor, he was due one.

Fadz - 4 - looked off the pace early on, but read and sniffed out some of the numerous Stoke attacks.

Doyle - 5 - Best of the 3

Bidwell - 4 - neither here nor there, looked scared of their wingers, and didn’t want to press as a result.

Hamer - 4 - Lost possession more than he won, then started his hollywoods that kept getting intercepted

Sheaf - 5 - our only real quality on the ball, mostly in the 2nd half, but still not up to his usual level.

Eccles - 3 - Got found out today, spent most of his time hiding and not wanting the ball, pointing and blaming others, one day he might offer in some space.

Godden - 3 - still not sure if he played or not

Vik - 4 - Tired, lethargic, but feeding off absolute scraps.

We're not talking about every time he plays, though. Might be showing your bias here. In the 45 mins he had, he showed more guts than most.
