Because you said that if we had a fully fit squad Eccles would struggle to get on the bench.
He's performing really well at this level, can cover several positions and has just been given a long contract.
Assuming he's fit, he's clearly and rightly seen as a valuable member of the match day squad.

PVA also said Kelly is better than Hamer and Sheaf tbf

I don't see what that's got to do with it?

I trying Grendel is suggesting PVA has said far more controversial things than Eccles isn’t in our best team.

Is he better than Sheaf, Allen, Hamer, palmer, O’hare? I prefer him to palmer but it wasn’t a wild point from Grendel

Also if any of those players go or remain injured for a lengthy period of time would you see Eccles as an oven ready replacement

If those 3 were fit, plus Sheaf and Hamer, I agree Eccles wouldn't be an automatic choice. But to say he wouldn't even get on the bench is way over the top. What did he do wrong yesterday? Won the ball quite a few times and used it tidily. You need players like that to provide a platform. Our problem atm is lack of creative support for Vik, and it's just unfortunate that all the injuries have occurred to that part of the team.

We are just outside the playoffs and he's played 29 games, slotting in different positions and hasn't let anyone down. If he stays fit, and if we don't go and buy a bunch of multi- million £££ midfielders, he will be in the team or a valuable and versatile sub.

Grendel said Eccles wouldn't make the bench, and that's what I'm disagreeing with.
[Personally, I hate the way some people use the laugh emoji on here. It's great for positive amusement, but there should be a separate 'sneering' icon for arrogant ridicule].

Eccles is a good Championship player already and has a lot of potential. I thought he did well again today. I agree it was quite a good quality game on the whole. Disappointed we didn't win but a big improvement on the Stoke performance.

On another day we could have scored or conceded three.

I can just imagine Grendel sat round the table for an easter Sunday lunch tomorrow.

'Oh this roast pork is delicious'

Grendel: 'actually in 2017 you said you much prefer beef and lamb to pork, how stupid do you feel now? Haha I am so superior'.

I don’t eat animals

Nowhere in that post does it suggest you do, classic non meat eater response to literally anything tho.

How would I know the pork is delicious?

Thought it was one of Hammer and Viks worst perfomances.
Gus did a couple of great runs then passed the ball to their players, his pass rate yesterday was very poor Some really easy ones just going totally astray.
Hopefully back to his best on Monday.

I can't comment on yesterday's game as I haven't seen it but I'll offer an opinion on Eccles. No he's not at the standard of O'hare and Palmer , to name just two, and when they are fit they would keep him out of the team. No argument at all with that. However he is well worth his place in the squad and can improve. (Remember a lot of criticism of Sheaf?) We know he can come in and play without much risk of letting us down and I wouldn't waste money on someone else to provide that cover or risk some young lad on loan who might not fit in. There are other priorities

Eccles is a different type of player to Hamer, Palmer and O'Hare, but for me similar in style to Sheaf. This is the first time that he has had a run of games in his preferred position, so next season he will hopefully improve further still. He clearly is a confidence player so the more he plays the better.
