Such a difficult game to score, we were second best first half, got dominated first 10 of the second but where fantastic last 35.

As I tried to say first half , we were more than there equal and were never second best , 2 poor bits of defending cost us Screenshot_20230410_171546_Flashscore.jpg

Wilson-Esbrand, Sheaf and Godden all really good today

Gyokeres missed some good chances and too selfish at times. Constantly on at his teammates as well

They were better than us first half. Don't care what the stats say. They always had a spare man in midfield and time and space. Too many of our players were under par, we deserved to go into the break behind.

Gyokeres has been at his frustrating worst last couple of games. Throwing himself on the floor then shouting at the ref, 6 touches then shooting without getting his head up. If you score 20 goals in this league then you’re going to get close attention. He needs to learn to live with it. That shot where he ignored Hamer in acres of space was criminal too.

If he'd passed to Hamer near the end we would probably have won.

His current form is not befitting a player with PL aspirations, his petulance isn't either

Some batshit criticism of Vik again I see. Thought he had a very good second half. He's missed 2 efforts from outside the box, both of which he created himself with some excellent play. Another assist too.

JWB 7.5: I like some in the ground were slating him in the first 30 but was excellent second half. There's almost a lack of confidence with him and he gradually grew and realised he could beat the man for fun.
Doyle 6: poor first half like the rest. He needs to drive forward more because he has so much ability on the ball.
Fadz 6: Looked very dodgy in the first half and didn't get stuck in after the ref decided to give him a yellow card for a reason unknown to anyone. Defended well towards the end.
McNally 6: Last few weeks prove what I thought a few months back. A great player but clearly not good enough for Burnley. We should have a decent chance of getting him if we are ambitious.
Cuffy - 7: Same as Esbrand. Needs to believe in himself more. He can take anyone on for fun if he wants. Should have had a penalty.
Hamer 7: Poor opening but grew into the game.
Sheaf 8: Excellent. Good to see him in the box getting a goal. Bossed it second half.
Eccles 7.5: There was a stage in the second half where he was absolutely everywhere. Continues to develop.
Godden 7: Weird one for me. I still feel he hampers the team. Missed a very decent chance at the end. However, a lovely goal and that's all we can ask of him.
Gyökeres 5: again, a weird one. I partly blame the tactics on his recent performances. Vik is at his best when up top, latching onto long balls and mistakes. He isn't great when trying to link up play. Scouts will see that and question whether he's worth £20m. In spurts he turned them ragged. The biggest problem was his greedy efforts. He's shite at shooting from distance so no idea what he's doing.

Robins - Lack of subs was interesting and probably right in the end. We'd be slating him if we lost.

Didn't have much to do. Swept well. Looked to keep momentum going 2nd half.

BNC 6
Don't remember any howlers but their 2nd was too easy from his side. Good going fwd 2nd half.

McNally 6
Didn't stand out. Don't remember any great moments or any shockers. Has dipped lately.

Fadz 7
Brilliant in the air. Tried to build pressure 2nd half by carrying the ball a few times. Good game.

Doyle 6
Same as McNally, maybe a bit better with some decent balls fwd esp. 2nd half.

JWE 7
Beaten for their second by a tricky player. Both halves, our best attacking outlet.

Hamer 7
Not his best but hard to mark him lower than this. If Vik hadn't been a Tw*t he might have won it.

Sheaf 8 MOTM
Brilliant 2nd half. Wanted the ball all the time. Header goes in and he's a 9.

Eccles 6
Better 2nd half, worked hard. Should watch Sheaf's 2nd half performance back.

Vik 6
Didn't hide, hold up play was good, just too selfish. Seems not to get that playing 1-2s is a thing.

Godden 7
Brilliant finish, pressed hard, was ignored by Vik with his head down so much esp. 1st half.

I know how you feel, reading the comments about him actually gets me down. I had to listen to Mary from Love Islands podcast today so I couldn’t hear the fans abusing him.
