Hes off surely can barely make the squad nowadays

Question I'm asking is, do you think he will end up staying in the championship?

Yeah he'll probably go to a bottom 6 champ side. Hope we don't offer him a contract and even if we do I doubt he would sign

But we need a squad and defensive back up and also not a defence full of young loanees. Extending his contract a couple of years doesn’t mean he will stay that long & at least we know what we are getting.

Doesn't look like MR is sold on the idea of having him around after the season ends. If that's the case we will not find out officially until few days after season ends. Good player, big part of what has been achieved, but could be we are moving on and he unfortunately is being left behind.

And if he is causing himself to be highlighted in the wrong light, from what i have been told MR doesn't do sentiment or compassion with ease for those not falling in line.

Technically has all the attributes you'd want but has never really looked the part at this level. He struggles to string a run of games together & that effects his decision making & I think he generally lacks a bit of aggression too.

I thought we'd probably retain him as backup, MR often talks about players that have "been on the journey" & that he therefore knows & trusts but it's not looking likely when he barely even makes matchday squads now. I think there is possibly something in what @fernandopartridge is saying. Makes little sense to have a loanee like Panzo ahead of him otherwise.

In that respect, I find Dabo more interesting in that he does seem to be one of those Robins knows and trusts, but there seems to be no sign of us taking up his option for another year.

Not good enough to start but also an ok squad player, would offer him a deal but happy for him to go

Ffs someone pretends to allude to some inside knowledge and gets a whole bunch of likes despite no substance or saying what they think it was. Ridiculous.

Truth is he was offered a new contract but didn't sign it. That puts to bed the off field issues or that Robins didn't want him. It wasn't enough though as he has other offers and could've been sold months ago when we had no ready replacement. Robins dropped him for not signing, then back on the bench when needed and dropped him again Monday now Panzo available again. Shame as he has genuine pace and got injured at unlucky time. Since then the lads that came in deserve to keep the shirt.

He'll be off at the end of the season, he's moved on and so have we.

Had opportunities but never really made the RCB spot his own - don’t think he’s aggressive enough for MR’s liking. Would deffo keep him around as cover but if you’re Rose, you’re going to want to move on. Would expect a good side in league one to take him or of course, a move to SPL.

Was class in that League One season. That goal at Portsmouth…scenes.

Seems bizarre to freeze players out when we have hardly any available but he isn’t the first

Won't be Scotland, although Rangers did want him but family are big Aberdeen followers and that's a definite no.

There shouldn't be either. As much as he has served us well, we aren't a charity. Dabo needs to be moved on. Rose has a bit more ability but clearly there is a mismatch between player and coaching staff. Nothing to be dramatic about - it happens. Wish him the best of luck, but sometimes it's best to part ways for both parties.

Eh? What attributes? He’s slow, makes mistakes, can be bullied by small forwards and isn’t aggressive enough in the air or closing down. There’s tougher bird shit on the seats in the CBS than Michael Rose.

Slow? Far from it, he's deceptively quick. If you have ever seen the interview segments with the players talking about their teammates they all pick Rose in the top 2 quickest players at the club (Tavares being the other).

He used to have the best range of passing of any of the defenders (although I think Doyle surpasses him on this now) & he usually defends well 1v1. I completely agree on the lack of aggression though & said as much in my post.

This season though he's struggled to stay fit, his passing has been totally haphazard, screwing up a lot of simple passes even & he has been beaten far too easily on too many occasions. Every time he's had the chance to stake a claim he's failed or got injured.

If he was just shit it'd be easy to accept that we've outgrown him but knowing that he has these attributes but has been inconsistent at best ever since promotion is frustrating.

There will be all those Premier League clubs ready to snap him up that have always been reported every time he had one half decent game. He might get offered a deal with a club promoted from League 1 possibly. When McFadzean was injured he had a real opportunity to prove his worth... And ultimately didn't.

What I will say for Rose and Dabo is I don't think the club have managed either of them well in terms of their fitness after the hip injuries they had at the end of the promotion season. Strange that they both had very similar injuries and both have never really been able to consistently stay fit since.

How can we assume yours is the 'truth' then? Seems you criticise insider knowledge then tell everyone you have the same as if it's gospel

I didn't even state it as truth just something I'd heard which I qualified.

Him not signing a contract and potential off field indiscretions are not mutually exclusive anyway.

I still think we'll probably trigger that option in Dabo's contract. His situation is a bit different as we don't have to negotiate terms, it's just a case of taking up the option which can be done at any time before his contract expires which is usually end of June.
I think he can still be an asset if he can ever stay fully fit for a considerable amount of time but that doesn't seem to be the case & his fitness issues impact his performances incredibly.

Agree. Seems to be a very popular player and a positive influence around the place by accounts.

There are no off field indiscretions this is exactly the point I'm making it becomes like Chinese whispers. Hrs a model pro. You never see him out on the town getting 'lashed' looks after himself and has a mostly vegan diet.

I don't expect you to assume anything but then nor do I post anything of scandal or say 'I heard there were problems ' without elaborating what they might be. It's very dangerous and rumour quickly becomes fact.

Could depend on league certainty. We're likely to be championship in which case I'm sure we'll take the option, but if we somehow manage promotion then he's no premiership player and his wages likely double, wasting some budget.

This has been his strongest season in the Championship. When he's played he's been good this season. In the previous two years he was very error prone. I'd be happy if he re-signed as a backup but if I was him I'd want to go and be first choice somewhere.

He was definitely out in Manchester with McFadzean and Gyökeres the other week (after the Blackpool game). No drama though; all were well behaved apparently.

Still best friends with Hyam I believe.

He was excellent in League One but never really made the step up like Fadz and Hyam did,

I'd prefer to keep him, as it seems daft to let him go only to sign a replacement backup. But if he has rejected an offer because he wants first team football then fair enough, can't argue with that.
