The "computer" says we're reaching the playoffs ahead of the pack. But we'd have to face Luton over 2 legs and that's as far as we go.

But that's a computers programmed result and doesn't take into account the human element. Could Luton start to flap and Boro overtake them ? We have the ability to beat any of the teams in the current top 6. And even though Luton are one of our bogey teams, in some of their games against us, they've really used up all their luck.

some big games tonight

Blackpool v WBA
Sunderland v Huddersfield
Millwall Birmingham

could be 9th and 6 points off 5th by the end of the night if those 3 go to form
We need a Blackpool / Huddersfield/ Birmingham treble

I can't see Norwich only taking 6 points from QPR, Swansea, West Brom, and Blackpool

that is their form from last 10 games , that said I would probably expect them to get nearer 8-9 , which means we would need 8 (if we keep ahead on GD)

I still think 71 will be the magic number . We need 3 wins
May get away with 70 at a push - but win the next 3 for me and have a relaxing day in middlesbrough

Robins has one more save scum left to him, and apparently he’s saved the game today. So make of that what you will.

If we did magically make it to the playoffs , Norwich are the only team I don’t want us to face, we are horrendous against them

If we do go up, spare a thought for Dean Austin who will have to presumably scrap any scouting database that has been put together since he joined and create a whole new one with players that could potentially keep us up

Swansea last 5 games 4 wins and a draw against us. WBA will also be desperate for the points.

Norwich 1 win out of last 7. Lost 5-1 against Middlesbrough last game. In the present run a draw at home to Rotherham. A run of 1 win, 3 draws and 3 defeats. 6 points from last 7 games.

So more points in the next 4 than the last 7?

McF against Haaland, Allen against DeBruyne. I’d pay to watch

I had found this site fivethirtyeight too recently. SPI is soccer power index and seems to be a rating of the team worldwide. I think Coventry City are rated 185th in the world but I my have that wrong. This site is aimed at USA so use with caution.

A defeat could change this very quickly.

One thing we have going in our favour is that we have history of pulling out a run of big results when it matters. League Two season we threw a good run of form together the last few months of the season. League One promotion season we obviously had a massive unbeaten run but strung together wins vs Sunderland, Ispwich, Portsmouth and a draw vs Rotherham when we needed to. First season back in the Championship we got the big wins vs Bristol City, Rotherham and Barnsley when it was starting to look do or die. Even this season we managed to get our heads on and recover from the bad start. Tomorrow is probably the biggest league game we've played since relegation from the Premier League, but even if we win that we're still going to need to do the job vs Reading and Birmingham at home too. Time to back the boys and the management team and have the faith that they can do it.

And even if it does't go our way, this has been an unbelievable season considering our start, the pitch fiasco and constant injury issues. To even be in the position we are without a fit AM for the past month is very impressive given how central that position has been to how we play for three years. Really is no shame if we do miss out by a few points or whatever this year, as gutting as that would be.
